Lulzy They can't even be arsed to fix a damn STV for TF2 when it's almost certain that this wouldn't fly if it was a CS:GO game.
CSGO stv is also currently down.
Edit:Just went back up

This probably isn't helpful for everyone, but an idea I just tested is to run a cable from my PC's headphone jack to the microphone jack on my laptop in listen mode, and plug my headphones into the laptop. Then I just record using Windows sound recorder.
It's worth trying if you have an old laptop spare and your PC isn't powerful enough to stream without fps drops.
cage-can someone post their toggle bind for viewmodels please?
Scout/Soldier:
bind "mouse1" "slot1;+attack;r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind "mouse2" "slot2;+attack;r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind "mouse4" "slot3;+attack;r_drawviewmodel 0;viewmodel_fov 75"
unbind q
unbind mwheelup
unbind mwheeldown
I use viewmodels for other classes.
I have been running Windows 8 since May without any major issues. I have two screens, one of them 120hz with lightboost and I haven't had issues with changing refresh rates (I play in full screen though).
No issues with tf2 crashing for me, smooths still don't work but I was having that issue with my windows 7 machine.

2. Mumble has been slightly buggy, on 1.2.4 I had overlays working, but it would often stop responding, and if I happened to be talking during this, other people in mumble kept hearing me until it started responding again (1 min ish?)
I had this problem, try this fix: http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/3713/1#post-7
Since I tried that my overlay works and mumble doesn't crash.

I used to play on a HP DV6 that got really hot while playing. It was still under warranty so I couldn't open it up to clean it out/put new thermal paste on.
What I ended up doing was taking an old shoebox, cutting a hole in the lid and glueing two 80mm case fans to it. Running the fans off a 9V AC adapter the CPU temp dropped by about 12 degrees C. It's worth trying if you have some old parts lying around.
