retrogradeby the way anyone here have any tips for someone who really likes music and wants to fool around on garageband or something? im into flume/james blake type stuff and would love to know how to make those sounds :))
when you first start, its gonna sound bad. and youll be super frustrated because it wont live up to your expectations. the important thing is to break past this phase in music production and keep chipping away because the sound will come with time. As long as your influences are good and your ambition is high you will be set.
Also ive never used garageband but if you use it a bunch and decide you like it, upgrade to Logic, its basically the professional version of garageband for mac and very commonly used in the industry.
nanimalShow Contentall jokes aside from the start of the thread
I started to make some music as a fun hobby, mainly hip-hop inspired beats and I just finished this one which is probably one of my better ones.

this is pretty great, your percussion choice definitely makes me think of Wind Waker or something. hip hop is genuinely so much fun to make.
