I'll get around to changing those damage numbers. I think it's able to be changed.

SpadowHey there,

I got here thanks to reddit. I was looking for a custom HUD and yours is just perfect for me.
I installed it, but there are a couple of things I noticed:

http://i.imgur.com/kfdfbPO.png

- The text that says the name of the server is cut-off. Maybe reduce the size of the font?
- There are 14 players on Team BLU, yet I only see 6. I prefer to see this: http://i.imgur.com/yuQL0jSh.jpg

If you need to know the screen resolution I'm playing in, it is 1770x996.

http://i.imgur.com/4QD4BqH.jpg

- There are two intel icons. Bug?
- I notice that when you damage an enemy, the damage appears twice. Why? Is it possible to remove inflicted damage near health?

http://i.imgur.com/b27s5XS.png

- A and D. Not sure what this means, but is it possible to change this into "< and >"?

More color schemes would be welcome. From now on, this will be the custom HUD that I will use. Good job and thank you!

Hey.

First, I don't see the first problem you're having with the server label.
EDIT: I get this. I think that's cause that map has an unusually long name; shouldn't be much of a problem for basic maps.

To fix the scoreboard, click the "switch scoreboards" label on the main menu.

Pretty sure the intel thing is a bug.
It might be possible to change the damage numbers, but I think it's a built-in valve thing.

A and D represent the hotkeys you can use to swap between backpack screens. A nifty little feature in rayshud and other huds that I decided to port into flatHUD.

Hope this helps!

In other news, I am almost done optimizing for 16x10. Optimization for 4x3 will come in a later update.

probablycatsI really really like the hud so I thought I'd point out some things that are out of place on my 1680x1050 res.

I also found the ammo icon to be a tad too big but its not that big of a deal.

All right, those don't seem to be font-related so I'll see what I can do about that.

Thanks for helping!

The font problems are most likely caused by you not installing the fonts correctly. Go to the resource/ui folders and install "BigNoodleTitling" and everything starting with "weblysleek". I don't know why we have to do this extra step (might be something to do with folder permissions) but I'll explore it in the near future. Try that and see if your problems are fixed.

KarvakorvaCan I change the servers in that quick connect button?

Yes, but the process at this time is a bit convoluted. I'm writing a different mainmenuoverride that gives you a bit of a template for the server connect screen, so hopefully that helps people out a bit.

Same for you, shin.

Also two questions:
What do you mean by the "stat feed"? The killfeed? And which damage font, the one that shows up on your hud or the one that shows up around the person you shoot?

Also: thanks everyone! :>

HuggesWill this work on a Mac?

Don't have it tested at this time.

Craftylooks really nice, i'll give it a try!

edit: holy shit this is very well done, i'll stick with it. quick question, how do you take off the preloaded server buttons you have; i don't use any and i'm just curious.

Plop this into your resource/ui folder, should wipe all that off. Will include a folder for all these modifications in the next release (mostly just a structuring release for the folders and stuff).
edit: name it mainmenuoverride.res. I should probably not use puush for this type of stuff considering they only recognize it as a text document.

Do the fonts work? That was a problem I used to have.

Hey tftv.
I've been working on this little project for about three months now and I think I've gotten it to a point where it's ready for release. There are currently two versions, flathud and flathudRED, with options to customize the colorschemes of both.

This hud only works in 16:9, 16:10, and 4:3 (with separate files).

Thanks to tstm for creating the website and to him and omni for creating huds.tf!

Current Version: 3.1H

Thanks to:
Rays - being a HUD dictionary, raysHUD (the base of this), and being an awesome person
Harvest - other HUD questions
Doodle - Doodle's hud guide
Suyo - his awesome loading screen and statusspec info!
Tmoney, Drewbi, Magikarp, Nick, Maka, FreakyFred, and all my other testers - Beta testing and feedback
tstm - creating the flathud website
Hypnotize - his hud fixes

Thanks for using my HUD!

All right, I managed to get the winpanel working now. I guess all that's left is the itempanel stuff and dance's thing.

edit nvm i'm dumb

I messed with my winpanel under hudlayout.res with the wide and xpos values but nothing actually changed.

Also, the TimeValue thing worked.

#10 Bunch o' hud questions in Customization

All right, I think I fixed everything else.

Another question or two I want to pile on (if you don't mind):

8) How would I change the size/font of the timer under HudObjectiveTimePanel.res? There's a value for the server time but not the actual time.

9) So I'm trying to design a new winpanel but whenever I try and move the blu background over it gets cut off. This has always frustrated me so what do I need to do to get it to show up on the left side?

#8 Bunch o' hud questions in Customization

Awesome, rays. Sorry for being kind of a nuisance with this--good luck with finals!

1) I've already done this, I believe--it changes the font of the body (level, custom desc, etc) but not the name of the weapon.

2) Yeah, this is pretty hard to test. I'll have to see if I get some complaints about it when I first release before I dig a bit deeper.

3) Would I have to change the red/blu bars to full 255 opaquity (not a word)?

4) I've changed pretty much every border that has to do with Cyan in clientscheme, and so far everything is changed except for this http://puu.sh/5IQ6E.png. I can't find where those two borders are defined in clientscheme (or if they're separate lines added on by you).

#5 Bunch o' hud questions in Customization

All right, messed around with my clientscheme and fixed the font issue (hopefully, I can't really test it).

Changed everything I could think of in clientscheme to try and fix the borders still being cyan, no dice. Also couldn't find anything about Max:X values in ClassSelection.res

Owinflatline when do you plan on releasing your hud it looks so cool!

First: thanks :>
Second: I don't have an ETA yet; there are some bugs I still want to work out and some other things like a new background. I'd say around Christmas time-ish?
