I think it's a little distasteful to trashtalk a low open team if you are a high open team that gets scheduled against them in the first couple weeks and roll them 5-0 in under 10 minutes...but if it's a match between two close teams there is nothing wrong at all with talking some shit (short of slurs being a little over the top).
I mean, just because you're the best sprinter in the overweight (450+) division doesn't mean you are good enough to talk shit.

We shittalk each other in club sports at my uni but we aren't varsity???
