Remember what your getting into by committing to competitive be it lobby lord or joining a team. I've played video games all my life and it really hasn't taken a toll on me until I started to play competitive. The game starts to affect your mentality, on top of this its also a huge time consumer, not just playing the game, but keeping up with it to consumes a lot of time. I don't play tf2 that much anymore compared to when I was a pubber but I spend a lot of time keeping up with the game be it watching streams, reading forums, etc. It also took a big toll on my academics, when I started to play competitive I went from a 4.0 GPA to a 3.4.
Just know what your getting into and really if you limit your self well and try not to play as much it won't affect a lot, this game isn't one like csgo where you need to DM for 8 hours to play in a lobby. Having people around you that support you playing games competitively is also something that will make the process to competitive a lot more comfortable.
Vortexalright who the fuck is this ogk guy who makes an alt to comment on literally everyones looking thread lmao
probably someone from blaze pugs circlejerk
owlYou say you don't run any ethernet connections but if you want good results you should go hardwired unless you absolutely cant. A longass ethernet cable could very well do you more good than a new router.
Believe me, I know. I used to have an ether-net connection but my parents took it out because they thought it wasn't looking good with my new room with the wire sticking out and they also thought it was unfair to the rest of my family that I was getting priority internet when they need it for more important things.
BUICKloljk ASUS RT-N66U
dual band router, that costs a little over 100 dollars. It is fantastic.
Currently have this one at my house, we have 2 people streaming at once through it and it handles it seamlessly.
was this while being on ether-net or a wireless connection?
I probably won't play next season if I have to timeout every time I play so I guess its time to upgrade my internet. I don't really know much about networking so I might sound like an idiot(as always).
There are 6 people that live in my house, there are times where we all use the internet. I want to be able to have 60-120 ping with no disconnects while the rest of my family is doing there thing on there devices(which is usually looking at memes on there phones and watching porn).
I want a dual broadband AC router, ether-net ports doesn't really matter because none of us use the ether-net. I have a lot of room to spend at 300$.
