marmadukeGRYLLSNilif the weapon damage is different you were playing on a modified server

also you should have 50 rockets, 200 LG bolts and 25 rails, idk what you mean about "5 or more LGs"

CA has 5 players, = 5 LG. thats why the nerfed LG dmg and shit like that in CA

You can join servers playing 3v3 or 4v4 too. LG damage is not changed in different gamemodes.

#35 quake live? in Off Topic
mthsadi hate to post this in here, but i'm having trouble running this game. whenever i connect to a server i get connection problem every three seconds while moving. what are the ports that i need to forward, and is there any way to modify the rates like in TF2 and CS?

Try these:

Set Rate "25000"
Set CL_MaxPackets "125"
Set CL_PacketDup "0"
Set CL_TimeNudge "0"

You can try Cl_PacketDup 1 or higher if you're getting packet loss which are red bars on your net graph (cg_lagometer).

I believe ports are
TCP 5222
UDP 27000 to 27999

#25 What switch do you prefer? in Hardware

Definitely browns. Haven't tried reds though, think they might be quite good. Think I'd miss the tactile feedback of the browns though. Kind of curious about how justified the hype around topre switches is too.

They sound lovely too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXR_05X8Nm8

If anyone's looking to buy a mechanical, I'd recommend a CM QuickFire Rapid (they come in multiple switch types) unless you really want to get an expensive board (the QFR is about $80 or £70).

#32 General Guide Thread in Hardware
the301stspartan>Deathadder 2013 superior to deathadder black
>AD-700 has 0 bass

Don't rely on /g/ too much when buying hardware, just sayin´

I think everything there is pretty spot on EXCEPT the point about the AD 700 (which are amazing headphones btw).

A modmic or a good desktop mic are also good choices along with the zalman.

And I wouldn't really consider my Steelseries Sensei a shit mouse, but as soon as I can afford one, I'll be getting a Zowie FK for sure.

#60 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion
2639 frames 21.9 seconds 120.4 fps 4.3 fps variability

CPU and overclock: i5 2300
Graphics Card: HD 6870

Dxlevel: 81
Resolution: 1680x1050
Full-screen or windowed: Full Screen
Configs enabled: Chris Maxframes
Shadows enabled/disabled: enabled

Additional notes: Aero enabled.

For some reason timedemo doesn't post my results in console. I have to grab it out of sourcebench.csv in /tf folder.

#9 zis is rapha in TF2 General Discussion

Been a while since the last Torn Productions vid, but amazing as usual.

WhatisausernameIt's long been a tragedy that the two best quake live players (rapha + cypher) didn't have movies befitting their accomplishments, thank you for fixing half of that. (Hint, finish the job please)

#19 Fyi, the 24" Asus 144Hz monitor is on sale ($270) in Hardware
TaggerungI'm confused about this lightboost stuff
Is this monitor worth getting with an ATI card?

Here's some info on lightboost:

http://www.esreality.com/post/2395123/lightboost-faq-crt-quality-on-120hz-lcd/

Basically removes motion blur but may increase input lag slightly I think (different on each monitor).

Just like any 120+hz monitor, it's worth getting, especially at this price. The lightboost is just an optional thing if you have a supported monitor and an nvidia card.

Considering it's the equivalent of $430 dollars on the uk amazon, that's a really good deal.

#38 QL Accel Driver in TF2 General Discussion
povohatSorry if it doesn't work on your machine, I am having trouble tracking down these issues because I cannot reproduce them on my system.

The driver compiles with no warnings through the microsoft driver rules code analysis pass, it shows no problems in microsoft's driver verifier utility and passes the static driver verifier with the strictest rule set. The whole thing is based on an example driver from microsoft themselves.

+frag if it works on your system
-frag if it doesnt

Tried literally every method I could think of for the code 52 error. It's strange because I'd always been using moudrv before and it was working fine.

I just hit f8 on startup and disabled driver checking and it's working now but I'd have to do that every time I booted up (which tbf I don't mind too much).

Cheers for the driver

#32 USA in TF2 General Discussion
DouglasEuros would have won if they had banned the Crossbow.
The fuck kind of candy ass excuse is this?

He was making a joke. He said earlier in the thread: 'Americans are way more keen, more intelligent and as Tapley said more professional...I saw Ruwin come in at like 10am practising and the final isn’t for like 6 hours, just shows their dedication.'

d3nythat fucking thread holy shit

EUROEXCUSEGENERATOR.HTML

The general view of people from Europe is we got smashed. If you ignore the retards and the many trolls, most opinions are like this:

'Great game on snake, who cares if it’s an all-american final, this will just force the EU scene to improve. Hoping for a great final!'

dfywow the comments from that forum are hurting my brain, not surprised they're still in denial riding the excuse train. l8r euros

http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-22464/page-6/

If you check the posts, everyone is basically calling Hallow an idiot and saying he's in the 'retard category with Monkeh and Trath now'.

Just trying to defend the name of the good people in EU here. In europe, the majority of people (that weren't retards) thought NA would win. What's surprising was how easily they won, without dropping a single map. LG got second place and they still decimated Epsilon, who's had no trouble with any team in Europe since Dignitas was around years ago.

Well done to NA for annihilating EU. Some of the people in the stream chat made pretty disgusting comments though.

#17 Headphones in Hardware
DrakeMegrimPretty happy with these: http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-Open-air-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B000CMS0XU/ref=pd_cp_e_0

Most comfortable headphones you'll wear. Would recommend them over the M50s.

If you have some extra money, you may want to buy one of these too: http://www.amazon.com/Fiio-E6-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B005HJWWW8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1345595801&sr=1-1&keywords=fiio+e6
