Tickets should be going on sale for everyone today. Waiting to have more people express interest before I commit to going.
Refund policy:
Nick, we generally have quite a waitlist, and have been very successful in matching new attendees with people that can’t attend, so that nobody is left with an event ticket, and unable to make it.
Beyond that, we don’t allow an event refund.
Thanks

So no refunds, but they'll help you sell your ticket (I think).
IU LAN War tickets are available now if you're an IU student. Friday if you're not. If you're near this, go. http://teamfortress.tv/thread/20416/iu-lan-war-27
Updated the OP. Said "students who go to IU campuses" instead of "IU students" so people don't think it's just Bloomington students.
To continue off what Sean said, I assume since the ESEA client has Mumble built into it (so you can connect to their Mumble servers), updating your Mumble client changes things the ESEA client relies on, so the ESEA client breaks.
Updated the OP. Not sure if shdw is planning to attend so I didn't put him there.
dashnerCJ-FITES should be awesome, although it is a max 250 person lan. Definitely a different experience from GXL.
Pretty much this. FITES was a great experience but it's not intended to be a gigantic competitive LAN like GXL was. If you're trying to hit something out of the park this winter in terms of size, you should be looking at ETS.
Not to mention Montreal is a much more unique city to visit relative to another trip to outer Philadelphia.
Apparently ETS doesn't like us though due to past issues. That might be a problem.
kirbyDon't come to Indy. You'll drown in corn.
Hey, corn's delicious.
BenkThere's a reason our biggest TF2 lans are held in New England.
<snip>
That said, if another lan like GXL happens anywhere in NA I will be there. Looking forward to FITES in a few months and gxl next year.
I think the Chicago-Indy-Cincy area would be a good compromise. Not so far out of the way for people on the west coast, but close enough to the bulk of the population. Apparently 65% of the country lives within one day of Indy (according to the city's website).
After an exciting weekend, GXL is, sadly, over. Guess that means we can only wait for the next ESEA LAN…
Wait a minute… no. We don’t have to!
“What do you mean?” you may ask. Well, what if I told you that there are numerous LANs all across the world; some may not even be too far from you? Amazing, right? People just need to go to them. Most of these LANs, despite many of them being open to anyone, probably go unnoticed by our community. And if we do notice them, I assume that we only go to a few of these (GXL, ETS, etc.). The only LAN events I’ve actually seen people play at are Windy City Rendezvous, the Insomnia series, GXL, ETS, FITES, some Intel LAN in Atlanta, and, of course, the ESEA LANs. Out of those, the ESEA LANs and Insomnia series are the only ones that have been consistently held and streamed. The rest I either missed, weren’t streamed, or people didn’t go to until the past year (or in the case of WCRV, was new this year). Feel free to correct me on these, but this is based on my observations.
We need to go to more LAN events. Even if it's just a casual event, it will help spread TF2 as an e-sport. If possible, each LAN should be streamed to make people aware that the LAN event exists as well as provide more exposure on Twitch. GXL can become our Insomnia series, but all these smaller LANs can still help push our game.
Even if you don’t care about helping TF2 grow, you can still get something out of LANs: socialization. This aspect is usually near the very top of the list at any LAN event. What’s not to like about drinking beer (or soft drinks if you’re underage) with the people you've played TF2 with for years?
Take a look at the Upcoming LANs forum. There are numerous LANs that don’t get much attention. Check them out, maybe you’ll find one that’s right next door!
I currently intend to go to the 27th IU LAN War being held next month. I hope to go to WCRV2 (if it happens- and it should!) as well as GXL 2015. Hope you all find a nice local LAN to go to and meet other TF2 players in real life.
Get going!
So I emailed the club in charge of this to find out how it's going to work, here's the response:
Nick, all of our events are selected by the registrants. So once registration is open, we'll ask what games people want to play, and base tournaments on those.
If TF2 wins, we generally have done 5v5, and generally use something like the CEVO configs: http://cevo.com/event/tf2-6v6/downloads/?tg=106

So we need to figure out how many people are going soon. Also, do we want to try to get them to change the format to 6v6?
I'll add in a list of possible attendees to the OP later.
What I caught of it was great. Wish I could have been there, it just didn't work out this time. Please set next year's LAN for the 16th-18th please So I can go easily :3
I intend on going to the IU LAN next month, details should be coming soon. Hopefully we can set up a nice get-together there.
I want to post a nice speech but I think it needs its own thread and I also need to sleep so not now
I thought this might be an interesting article since a lot of us use Last.fm in some way, usually for streams. If this trend continues, they'll shut down for sure. Might be good to find an alternative so we can keep having song info in streams.
