#6 I want to learn programming in Off Topic

everything deetr said.

you might want to consider javascript as your first language though. the community of js developers is massive, its relatively easy to learn, and it has a more immediate payoff. for people looking to pick up coding as a hobby, you can't beat it. if you're only going to learn one language, javascript is the best.

however, if you're considering programming as something that could become more than a hobby, python might be the wiser choice. its much easier to learn additional languages with the foundation that python provides vs javascript.

#12 Hey Everyone in TF2 General Discussion

Part of the reason why I wanted to come back was so I wouldn't suck at games when Overwatch came out. When I saw the gameplay trailer I wondered how much of this community would migrate. Do you guys think it has competitive potential? I definitely thought so, but then again I also thought Brink was gonna be huge. This just seems different to me because its Blizzard I guess.

Back to TF2 though... Have North American teams been represented at every Insomnia since that first one? I think it was i43? Can't remember.

#1 Hey Everyone in TF2 General Discussion

It's been a while, so I suppose I should reintroduce myself.

Hi, my name is Andrew and I usually go by iamRoot in games. Up until last week, I hadn't played TF2 (or any PC game for that matter) since September of 2012. I quit video games entirely so that I could focus on finishing up my degree, but I've been done for a while now, and I feel like getting back into it.

I have a couple questions.

1) Who is still around from back then? Feel free to add me on Steam if we used to play together.
2) What, if anything, has changed about 6v6 in the last 2+ years?

Last thing... If I know you already and you're looking for someone to ring on medic or soldier, hit me up. I'm available most week nights.
