Having to OC just to play TF2 without inconsistent FPS is unacceptable.

My core speed is generally around 3100MHz (not sure if this is what you meant??). Is this default, or higher than it should be? But yeah, I literally cannot buy a new CPU if I wanted to.

Purchasing parts is far from an option any time in the foreseeable future. I disable every non-microsoft service/program on the exception of Steam and Mumble. No difference in FPS consistency that I can notice. I very recently defragged TF2 (last major update before Halloween? maybe just the last 2-3 updates before Halloween). I might need to defrag my drive, since it's honestly be a long time. How would I check for TF2 errors and compatibility issues?

I don't know how a different CPU would help, but I'm not very tech smart, other than what is just generally good. Should I disable multicore rendering and see if that would help?

Yeah, it's really really frustrating. It's hard to focus at times when your game feels choppy because of the fps drop that will hit you out of nowhere.

Running DX8 with Chris' max FPS config. Native resolution @ 1280x1024. I get around 300 FPS in a small area, like respawn room for example. On the outside, it'll be around 200FPS or so, but after around 15 or so seconds seemingly, it will drop to around 65-70fps for a few.

I tried using mat_viewportscale 0.5 to see if that would help, and I can't notice a difference in performance. My cpu/computer overall isn't overheating. Not sure how much CPU it uses up since I can only check after alt+tabbing. There's no difference in performance between having my default start up programs open or closed.

I should also mention that running chris' max FPS config & DX8 hardly gives me a difference in FPS than max settings.

I don't mind having "only" 150 FPS, it's the inconsistency that's killing it for me.

Hi, I will make a 4-5+ minute video for whoever has the frags for it. The only condition is that you don't mind me working at my own pace as I am not going to have it finished for a month at the least.

Other than that, the only other things that you need to know are that I highly prefer POVs over STVs, upload website doesn't matter and I want ticks in an attached .txt file.

why is this thread still around? there was really no reason for him to announce to us that his account was stolen and that someone supposedly got him vac'd. he then admitted to cheating and that's that.
