I reallywant to give a HUGE thanks to all of you "only-fkin-rule-in-the-thread-breaking-bastards" for all the love and kind words. I love that i am able to give back to the community... even though in all honesty i do nothing at all (seriously... auto update and auto payments = set for life) and still get giddy when someone tells me they love the servers. I love that you love them... and as long as people love them they will be up and running - automatically of course <3

My apologies again for starting off wednesday with suck a downer thread. I wrote that post after literally sitting and staring at nothing for over an hour this morning - digesting this shit aint easy for me. Saying and thinking that you can no longer do something you have done daily for the majority of your life doesnt even compare to actually experiencing it. It sucks feeling broken and knowing theres no rollback to how you used to be. I def spent too much time in my head this morning and all I wanted was hear how other srs gamer nerds think they would react. I originally I left my wrist/hand story out bc i despise lookling like a woe-is-me'er. Its such a strange situation to put yourself in though... and i really wanted honest responses so i had to make it personal. Thanks to everyone who responded and a special thanks to those who shared personal experiences. Reading this thread at work today brightened the fuck out of my entire day. I realized this was mother natures way of saying the time has come to go over the TF2 hill and join the regal group of broken down oldtimers in the next stage of TF2 life.... time to learn how to cast. (i kid... i love you casters... <3)

OH and just to clarify it is my left hand with the dead fingers - keyboard not mouse. Not being able to tell if youre hitting keys is not a fun crutch - though it could be an entertaining ggglygy skill enhancer idea. =)

Holy shitters what a fkin emo post i made... my apologies for THAT. And I said no fucking sympathy - I am not sorry for ending up in this situation at all. Some of the best times I have ever had were spent playing this game for unspeakable hours at a time... and I have done quite a lot of awesome shit in my years. Dont pity me. Thanks.

While my realization that things arent going to be that same anymore sparked me to post this... I really dont want to talk about my shit. I was genuinely curious if other people felt as weaved into this game as i feel. Crying out of sadness bc i cant bodyshot people anymore - who the fuck does that? I think it is also the realization that im not 20 anymore... im not going to live forever and the choices I have made over the past 26 years (27 in a week oh god) have 100% affected me. The worst part about getting older is you realize that you really arent invincible... and when the choices you made growing up literally slap your health in the face right in front of you its a fkin horrifying reality check.

Holy shit my rambles - cutting myself off there. Just remember... if you would rather stay home and play games with your online friends on a friday night... stay the fuck home. And do wrist exercizes <3

Let me elaborate... imagine if you woke up tomorrow and tried to play your beloved TF2 only to find that you physically couldnt due to *insert your ailment of choice here*. You then realize that this is really the end of playing video games (unless you enjoy pain and suffering alongside your fragging) since the only cure requires surgery - which isnt an option right now. What would you do/think/feel?

Well i cried... and it kind of freaked me out. For the 99% of you who dont know, i have had issues with my wrists for years... pain... tingling... loss of feeling in my hands... etc (you kno, gamer hands). A little over a month ago my left wrist was worse than its ever been before and i ended up with some gnarly nerve damage in my thumb, pinter, and middle finger. Since then I have had absolutely no feeling in those fingers and half of my hand. I have been kind of lighthearted about it in general, but last night I tried to play tf2 for the first time in months and yeah... its over. And I cried (thats right I will admit it). In our minds we all have a point in our lives kind of "set" when we want to quit gaming... but when you have to stop and you have no control over it really kind of hit me.

The reason I ask this on tf.tv is the majority of tf2 players here and much more rooted in the game than the usual pubber - whether you play comp and scrim for hours or run servers or websites or communities... so many of us have given a shitload of time to this game which for me (nerd alert) has made it so much more than just a game. I have literally lived tf2 for the past couple years and while it isnt OVER.... its over. Fuckin depressing man.

ANYWAYS if you want ... lemme know how you would feel. Because I didnt expect to randomly start crying... those are some deep ass emotions bro. Oh and PLEASE no sympathies about my hand - i have spent 20 years gaming the fuck out of my wrists its mind boggling they even bend. And I had a fantastic time doing it.

I'm sorry... I have 5 paid holidays this year and a TOTAL of 10 sick/vacation days (which we are forced to use 4 if we want to get paid the week of christmas since the office is closed). But you get to work from home for a week - sounds like torture. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SUMMER.
