So I play tf2 on a mac and atm am experiencing two minor (very) problems with this otherwise fantastic hud that I think is my favourite of all time.
The first is that I don't have a class image, which I found kinda weird.
The second is that I have a small black smiley face under and to the left of my ammoinclip. There are no elements in hudlayout.res that are creating it that I've been able to find as of now so I think it's attached to a different element (?).
I've never had anything like the second issue occur before, is it possible the two issues are related? I'm used to some funkiness cuz macs and tf2 custom content don't really mesh that well but I'm flummoxed as to what I can do to fix this. Any ideas?
I love the idea! I hope you have some sort of system to prevent people from trolling, and something to make sure information is accurate. EG: I could see a page about interp having lots of confusing and contradictory information if it's a collaboration so it'd probably be best to have it come from a reputable source. If that could be implemented this could be great!
"this entire community is a pool of fucking nerd semen"
f_bluecreate defaultch.cfg
put cl_crosshair_file "" and maybe other commands (color etc.) in
alias defaultch "exec defaultch.cfg"
profit :D
yeah that's what fsXD said and it works great if anyone else is wondering.
cool idea, I'll give that a try now.
I have a question about the default crosshairs. Is it possible to set them up inside of an alias? For example
alias default "cl_crosshair_file """
When I try to set it up this way it doesn't work. I'm basically just curious as I can implement the defaults into my crosshair switching script in a different way. I've also tried
alias default " cl_crosshair_file "" "
since I imagine the problem is with the syntax. Anyone have any idea why this doesn't work?
ErenJayGIMP. I don't think gimp has a vtf plugin for mac though :/
but you chould get GIMP anyway, its p cool
I'll check it out, thanks!
konrmore awesome crosshairs
Yes. I'd love them.
Also, would someone be able/willing to make me a image crosshair version of konr wings with the default circle crosshair? I have a mac and the alignment issues prevalent in the way macs read fonts and the way macs align tf2 stuff and my tiny laptop resolution have made it hard for me to line them up (for about 4 months now lol).
EDIT: Or, even better but extremely unlikely, is there a photo editor similar to photoshop I could get free or even cheap? It just needs to be basic enough for me to construct cool crosshairs.
gr8stalinYou're going full-throttle autism over people who probably don't know how to draw in the first place and are most likely not native english speakers. They probably both google image searched for "Dota 2 heroes" in their respective languages and uploaded artwork they thought was cool to feel like they were giving back.
I don't understand how this justifies copyright infringement. You're responsible for theft even if you don't speak english ( are you under the impression steam isn't translated into other languages?) and although on the internet it is extremely easy to lose track of ownership and stuff due to the nature of this new information age, this is pretty clear cut and since renhet did all the work of putting it together the least we can do to help is report. If this were a real life case it would be pretty cut and dry, and I doubt the report will have any negative consequences for the perpetrators much more drastic than them having to take down the artwork.
spartan: if your hud has functioned since steampipe it is nothing to do with steampipe. In other words, if your hud has worked since the update then you must be making a mistake installing the crosshair. make sure to follow instructions in that thread to the letter and check stupid stuff like enabled and visible 0 and x and y pos first (it's possible it's visible but off your screen, same with too small to see, both have happened to me before but very rarely.)
I honestly have no idea what the heck you're talking about with your whole image question but afaik i believe you can now add textures and (images?) to the game as custom elements (?), discussed in this post in the hudas iscariote thread: http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/8719-hud-hudas-iscariote-first-beta-release/4#post-131979
To do that with an image you'd need to find an image of konr wings alone or edit one out in photoshop yourself then somehow pack that into vmt/vpk (I'm confident there are conversion softwares but i have no clue about vpks and what can be packed into them/ if images can be added to huds indiscriminately now). I'd be doubtful that any image can be used in a hud now because I'm pretty sure there would have been more huds or custom crosshairs utilizing this to greater effect (transparency etc.). Youd also of course need to make your crosshair rainbow. All of this is stuff you'd need to do essentially on your own, it's hard for someone to help you because there's a lot of shit you can screw up. Or, you could live with white like the rest of us.
they clip into each other because the amount of ammo for different weapons/classes changes, I don't think you can fix the clipping without moving them further apart, unless you make them smaller or something.
