#4 General Steam-pipe Help in TF2 General Discussion

This should help with most of these general questions: http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-25164/page-1/

The new directory for custom content is common/team fortress 2/tf/custom/*any name*/cfg.
replace cfg with resource, script, etc. That should be all you need if reinstalling custom content is your only concern.

#4 tf2 issue (steampipe related?) in Q/A Help

are all of these options saved in a config? if they are then it should work. there are console commands for volume and hitsound (right now custom hitsounds don't work on non-steampipe servers). atm neither tf2 nor steam is saving changes i make in either steam preferences or in-game menu but options i have defined in my config work fine. most options in tf2 menu and advanced menu have console commands, so you should be fine if you add them to your config. as for damage text that's obviously hud-related, if you've reinstalled your hud in the proper directory I have no clue what the problem could be.

#155 [PSA] SteamPipe, Part 2 in TF2 General Discussion
shrtSo today TF2 isnt loading my config correctly. I've been running steam pipe with no issues all weekend. Now it loads a nearly default config, cept for like my graphics and like part of my crosshair switcher. Haven't touched any files or directories since I've last played. Not sure what happened.

Sounds like it's loading an old config from steam cloud and overwriting yours to me. That's what the issue was with me, not sure how it fits into steampipe though.

#42 The Future Of Competitive Team Fortress 2 in TF2 General Discussion

Something small I saw another guy doing that I started doing as well was using a [TF.TV] tag since I pub a lot. I was surprised at how many people asked me about it and I directed them to the site. While I did get a few disparaging comments about competitive for the most part people seemed excited about it and sounded like they would potentially check out the site. Might help if more people threw on the tag when they pubbed. It's minuscule, tiny, even, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

#2 Steam problems in Off Topic

I have no problems of the sort (you know I use a mac too :P) so I'm not sure what your problem is. There should be an update tuesday for steampipe (valve time) and hopefully it fixes the problems I have been experiencing since the most recent steam update. If preferences weren't broken for me I'd recommend fiddling with your download options. If they're not broken for you, then maybe try that?

#4 Steam Preferences Issue in Q/A Help
KissmeSame thing here. I just blame steam pipe.

bummer. hopefully the update tuesday fixes this, regardless of whether it's due to steampipe or not.

#1 Steam Preferences Issue in Q/A Help

Since the most recent steam update my steam preferences have been resetting to default each time I quit steam. The update was pushed through at literally the exact same time that I opted into steampipe, so either the steam update or the steampipe beta could be the issue, I'm not sure myself. It's a very minor annoyance but I'd still like to be able to fix it. Anything I can do?

EDIT: I just found out that my launch preferences are broken too, they're deleted the second I put them in. This is significantly more annoying because now things are misaligned due to the resolution change. :C

#4 remove highlander subforum in Site Discussion

Aside from the highlander thing, having a sub forum for casts seems like a good idea. There are a lot of informal stream casts that happen that don't make the events tab (like what bl4nk and the mad men did earlier this season with invite games). It'd be nice to be able to simply check a sub-forum and see if there's anything like that going on.

#146 [PSA] SteamPipe, Part 2 in TF2 General Discussion

so when i first opted in to steampipe everything worked great, but then i tried to install custom content right before this most recent steam update and now tf2 doesn't work, it just opens up for literally one second then closes with no error message or anything. also, everytime i open steam it logs me into friends automatically. each time i change the option in preferences so it doesn't do that but then the next time i open steam i'm logged in again and my preferences are back to the way they were. is this bugginess just part of steampipe? due to the update? anyone else having this problem?

#14 how to make your xhair brighter than the sun in Customization
VipassanadanaNo it will work with a regular crosshair you just have to use zpos "-420" or any negative value.
Where would I put it though? There isn't a crosshair section for the default ones like with hud crosshairs as far as I can see.

I think he means make the blackness "-420". Not too sure though.

#12 Hello fellas, and yes i am a mac user:( in Hardware
Pistola i do not want to run windows on mac, to much of a hassle.

It's ridiculously easy. Just buy yourself a copy of Windows 7 (or whatever OS you prefer) as crespi suggested and install it via bootcamp. Bootcamp comes with your Mac and is super intuitive and walks you through the whole process.

If for some reason that's still hard enough to warrant buying an entirely new computer then I would suggest building your own. Judging from my previous experiences with you I doubt you're going to be that willing to do any of this yourself though, so I'm pretty sure any good advice you receive will be useless.
