another low fps issue on a modern pc

i'm using mastercomfig medium-low @ 1440p, dxlvl 8.1 and have been noticing really fucking trash performance in tf2 lately (talkin like, dips to 80fps on 6v6 koth, even below 60fps on upward hl)
TF2 used to run REALLY well on this pc and suddenly things have been going really badly, not sure if it's because of my switch from 1920x1440 to 2560x1440 (higher fov?). using a 3700x, rtx 2070s and 32gb of ram (so it should perform very well, but in the end it's tf2 so i wouldnt be surprised if it just was the game being itself). any tips are appreciated.

i'd say RDJ is the best simply because of 4 there, however Come To Daddy has Flim and IZ-US (which is probably one of the best AFX tracks, ever)
