in it's inital stages (circa late 2007, early 2008) it was very poorly received. It was largely unpolished though, and didn't have any of the fortress gameplay of TFC. After years of work tho, the Steam release is quite good and I am pleased with it. I regularly play pickups on #ff.pickup @ quakenet. It's a slower, sludgier version of TFC but it is much, much better than the 2007 release. Most tfcers are either inactive or play casually among the moba (LoL & DoTA 2) or CS:GO player bases.
