original mx518 has a very tactile scroll compared to every other mouse I've owned, so probably not just from messing with yours

I have the exact same problem, my mouse cursor moves significantly slower & about half of clicks don't register, it instantly goes back to normal when I quit mumble
since there are no answers in this thread, anybody experienced this?
