To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to play Engineer. The dispenser’s usefulness is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Texan culture most of the voice lines will go over a typical player's head. There's also the Engineer's sexual attraction to machines, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from the movie Her (2013), for instance. The Engi mains understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this character, to realize that sentries aren’t just annoying- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike the Engineer truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Engineer's memetic catchphrase "Nope," which itself is a cryptic reference to any resemblance of fun game design I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Valve's genius unfolds itself on their game libraries. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a sentry tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the gamer girls' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 casual matchmaking levels of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
