#241 ESEA S15 NA Open Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
kevtankman has actually been doin big thangs from what i've seen, i don't know snark or scarecrow but the team is lookin good

That team is the Mad Boys remake (the real, final, live one). tank's damage is really good, Snark is ridiculous at scout. Xen is a fantastic roamer, CHE has a lot of experience. I don't know the other two.

Slin is officially on Mahal Kita (AKA Owl's team), since, like, last night.

I tried out for beasly's team and I know which MGE superstar you're talking about but it's unlikely he'll be playing next season. If he can whip up the group (there are some members who are inexperienced), it can definitely be a playoffs contender.

#1 LFT high open or low IM soldier in Recruitment (looking for team)

I know it's a weird time, but I figured I might as well put it out there. I'm looking in high open or low IM (ESEA at least, open to do CEVO too) as a roamer, but I'm willing to pocket if your team already has a main caller (it's the only way I'm any good on pocket). I didn't have time THIS season due to school, but since that's ending, my schedule has opened up again (my only real time commitment is work).

I've played on a LOT of teams during the time I've played so far (about 60% pocket, 40% roamer, over the course of 7-8 real teams in 3? seasons). I fully believe that I've worked incredibly hard on my DM/gamesense/timing to be able to hang in the lower half of IM now (I've become a spire lord help). I'm incredibly dedicated to this game, to improving, and to whatever team I may end up on. I attend LANs wherever and whenever possible (including my school's eSports club ghetto LANs). A huge goal for me for the next half year is to have a top 3-4 (or higher) roamer/pocket performance at GXL.

Give me a shout, we'll figure things out.

#62 $60 in TF2 General Discussion
Marmie1st- i miss understood that 60 dollars is only for invite
2nd - defy i think that taking skill in a game has nothing to do with money and how much im paying to play a video game, bashing on people for being less skilled then you at something is a pretty dick move

He wasn't bashing you because you're less skilled (that's a side effect), it was because you were making illogical arguments.

Start with that first.

#43 $60 in TF2 General Discussion

I'm always up for having a reasonable discussion with Euros about the merits and downfalls of the North American and European leagues and play, but, every time I'm talking to someone that isn't a caster or a Div 1/Prem player, it always ends up being "Americans are dumb".

I know some other players in the divs lower than that who are pleasant, but I can't avoid noticing that the lower div players are the ones who have huge egos and flawed arguments.

MarmiemanaMarmieand 60 dollars not much for a hobby?

lol you obviously dont work
These are two contradicting statements. Clarify?

Well i am trying to say that 60 dollars is quite a lot of money, if u worked hard for ur money u would realise this

I have a job and live independently, I'm well aware of how much $60 is. :/

However, the average TF2 Invite eSports player is probably doing well enough (usually by having a job, full or part time) to be able to manage $60 every so often...not to mention it's even less for the lower leagues ($30 for a season of Open by my estimation).

JLelongRegardless of the fact that marmite is mostly a retard,
It's cool that 60$ isn't much for you guys, but I couldn't afford it.
I don't work, and my parents wouldn't give me 60$ 3 times a year so I can play
competitive video games...

I guess i'd play UGC if I were american.

Of course, money is money and if you aren't making any of it then by all means it's probably wiser to save $60. We were talking about in situations where a person IS working (hence the comparisons to how many work hours $60 is).

Marmiewhy are you paying???? if im paying for a hobby such as tennis, i buy a new racquet to make myself better, just as i would buy a new mouse, you are paying an overpriced fee to play in a league that u are getting no benefits out of, i am playing in a league for free, only negatives of this league is that the prize pool is lower and there is no lan, if everyone in europe put 60 dollars we would have a huge prize pool, with 312 teams entering

and 60 dollars not much for a hobby?

lol you obviously dont work

Playing in ESEA is a step further than your tennis analogy. It's like entering a tennis tournament or bracket, which, in my limited competitive tennis experience, they do charge you for. What you're talking about is not league play as much as it is scrims.

Oh my god, you're leaving out so many facts and you're making a bad assumption about players in Europe I'm about to cry. At work. Don't make me lose my job.

1) It doesn't cost EVERYONE $60. That's just Invite.
2) IF EUROPE DOESN'T WANT TO PAY, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THE 312 TEAMS IN ETF2L WOULD PAY FOR A PRIZE POOL? And if we're extending this to free leagues...you have to include UGC 6s, as much as I don't want to, I have friends in those leagues who play the game more casually and don't feel a need to enter a paid league (which absolutely raises the stakes, even if a little bit). I don't know how many NA teams there are, but I imagine it's not an amount you can just ignore.

#12 Cloridium LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)
MaxHaxWas on a team with him before. All we did was asked him to comm. He didn't so we tried to move him to backup. Then he proceeded to fuck with our roster, and tried added kids without telling anybody. Seriously infuriating. Dm was really good, and that was a long time ago, just stating my experience with him. Probably a better player now.

Can confirm this literally doesn't happen anymore. And he totally admits that he was practically a kid back then. He's still young, but none of this came up with our team for the season (before it died); he's really, really responsible and respectful.

You absolutely should try out Cloridium. His DM is incredibly good (I would say his DM will be no issue in IM), his game sense isn't perfect but with a tiny bit more time and good teammates he will excel. Comms are also very good. He's very relaxed, incredibly patient with improving, and with taking criticism. I really couldn't ask for a better teammate and disciple to my rantings of his play while we were together.

It's an incredible shame that he hasn't had a solid team yet. I know about his past luck (and that he cut Phrakture for no reason at one point LOL) and he's the last person I would expect to not have found a loving team. There are a lot of Soldier spots floating at the moment, and he should be at the top of the list.

I personally do think he will be fine in IM. Give my son, Cloridium, a good home, please. :)
