Kanecougc steel is like etf2l open in eu, not mid, so that's a bit pointless. Why not only use the playerrankings restriction?
Because tf2playerrankins are not the most acurate way to prove a players skill and would limit the amount of people that will be in the beta.

Anyone here uses a VPS for a tf2 server?

dollarlayerI've been running an MGE server on a VPS for over 2 years, used it for 6's a number of times also. Runs great 99% of the time. Every once in a while there might be a server resource issue where someone is overloading the server and you have to contact the host to shut down some shady persons VPS. But honestly probably as stable as tragic/nfo.
If you have a shitty VPS provider that oversells their stuff, be prepared to put in a lot of tickets telling them the server is overloaded. I've only had to do that maybe 2-3x in a couple years. Also some VPS providers specify in their TOS that you can not run game servers. So check first.
I have an OpenVZ VPS with 2GB RAM, 2TB BW, and 2 IP's on my VPS. Don't think I'm getting any dedicated CPU resources. I'm only paying $40/yr. It's slightly overkill but has enough resources to be used for other things. I could run 2 servers on it with no problem, or probably a mumble server.
can you give me the link to your hosting provider i would like to check them out and thank you for being helpful.

pl3xTake Jarrett/Matlock's advice and find a mentor. Not only will they help you learn what you need to know but they will also be able to answer any questions that you might have as well as work with you on more personal problems that a simple generic guide wouldn't be able to solve. Good luck!
this and also getting on a dedicated team will teach you so much and will help you develop your play style.
