#9 Physgun Fireside Denver 2025 viewers' guide in News

When I think of aura, I think of DOWN. When I think of confidence, I think of SILVO. When I think of consistency, I think of COOKI. When I think of mentality, I think of ENRITH. When I think mechanics, I think of LAU. When I think of IQ, I think of CONOR

#12 Whats the state of comp outside of RGL and ETF2L ? in TF2 General Discussion

just attesting as a spectator at LAN downunder last year that it was a brilliant experience. great atmosphere, production, and TF2 (soiree vs struck minds was cinema) at a fantastic venue. seats were packed by the finals, plus more people standing. Fortress (company that owns the venue) actually wants to invest into esports more, and has a favourable partnership with cappingtv as well, so things look good. looking forward to go back in july

#2 LAN Downunder 2024 Feedback in LAN Discussion
  • The work done by everyone not in front of a microphone, camera or a gaming PC felt pretty much flawless. I dont know what combination of lux/configs/postprocessing magic you do, but the game capture itself is very, very attractive. It looks like it does in the trailer. Speaking of, I enjoyed the intersitials/transition videos, gave it a nice professional feel.

The "drop" splashtext in the killfeed should be standard everywhere, but I guess it requires a custom system because it seemed to lack obscure killicons which hurt.

Everything ran smoothly and I felt I could rely on the countdown timers. The observers did a great job, I can only recall like two missed momments. The freecam shots following the demo rollouts and the picture-in-picture playercams (like gotaki's engi) were really fun and I would like to see more.

  • While the actual shoutcasting during the matches was pretty stellar (I personally quite enjoyed the contrast between elmo/wils being more cerebral and composed and snazzy/goose being loud and sensational), the obvious weakness was the analysis. I didn't really feel that anyone there felt really confident or prepared in anything they were saying. often they would repeat the same truisms or fall back to tongue-in-cheek humour with the 8-ball or playing dumb. Coming in unfamilliar with the current scene, any context about the teams and the players really would've helped me.

I found the veterans segment to be really interesting and worthwhile but it felt kneecapped by the hosts not really knowing the right questions to ask. Clealrt there was ice that needed to be broken. maybe if elmo lead a sort of roundtable it wouldve gone better? I'm not sure.

#5 LAN Downunder 2024 heads to the Alienware Arena in News
BuckleyThis was amazing. The production team did such a professional job and really made something special.

Those games, especially that powerhouse of a grand final, were awesome to see live. Great casts and incredible performances by the teams. I had a great time.

I actually cannot describe to anyone who wasn't there how much you missed out. brilliant production, TF2, and organising all round. it really felt like everyone was seriously overachieving to whats expected of a 17 year old comp scene in a niche remote region. congrats to everyone involved, it was a pleasure to be there

#1 where is the 2023 resup.gg philly LAN VOD? in LAN Discussion

It isn't on youtube. it isn't highlighted on b4nny's twitch. The 2022 VOD was only uploaded to b4nny's youtube when the 2023 lan was happening so maybe this one will be uploaded later too.

until then this sucks. I've never run into this problem for any major TF2 event given archiving stuff is so trivial to do.

while i adjust my tin foil hat, b4nny clearly did this to minimise g6's accomplishments and froyo ending their lan streak

#16 ban the lochnload next szn in TF2 General Discussion
yak404scratchhw3 years ago it was market gardener now its lochnload. history repeats itselfit should STILL be the market gardener. that shit sucks to play against. No primary 6s class should have a free instant kill left click weapon especially a class with as much mobility as soldier.
Good luck preaching weapon bans to NA players when the well has truly been poisoned by B4nny for years claiming "Valve doesn't want weapon bans". Who gives a fuck what valve thinks, they don't give a fuck about comp gamemodes in this game.

this is a lot easier to say in hindsight. 9 years ago it made a lot more sense to cater to valve's sensibillities when it wasn't so evident they would abandon the game let alone the comp scene.
