I think instead of looking into a Promod, we could use this opportunity to propose/code some community changes, with the hopes Valve may push it into the game at some point. Valve don't seem to mind pushing community fixes as long as they don't have to do it themselves.

Think big! We could push our proposals for fixing Competitive matchmaking, weapon buffs/nerfs, other balance changes. I know from a production/casting point of view, there's some changes I'd love to see in the spectator client, especially things like adding smooth lerp commands like the CS:GO build had to make those nice cinematics.

We attempted to, found that routing for Australia was dogwater. We will probably try a new method later in the year for an inter-league event. I'd love to get an NA, AU, ASIA tournament going but we need teams interested in playing different timezones

What sorts of changes do you want from RGL that they aren't already providing?

Because to be quite frank, the amount of work required to start a new league wouldn't be worth it, and would take a very long time to reach the success that RGL has had starting from the ground up.

You have to consider:

• The staffing
  
• The platform
  
• The rulesets
  
• The public relations (social media, casting)
  
• The MONEY and investors/sponsors
  
• LAN events
  
• Anticheat

These might seem rudimentary to some of you but the amount of blood, sweat and tears put into the organization of these things shouldn't be undermined.

Note that it's going to take some time to get all the server and client plugins ported over, I know a lot of the casting ones are near completion but no idea about the server side.

Huge step in the right direction for Valve though and I'm sure it will make developing a touch easier going forward.
