#1 Selling WoW: Warlords of Draenor digital key in Other Games

If anyone out there is playing WoW (or planning on playing WoW) and hasn't bought the expansion yet, consider buying my extra digital key. I had preordered a physical CE but the bf wanted to play at midnight so I ended up buying a digital copy, also. When my physical copy came, I activated and asked Blizz CS for a refund but instead got the digital key back.

Sooooo, I have an unused digital key for the standard edition of Warlords of Draenor, and I'm looking for $45 via Paypal for it (expansion retails for $49.99 atm so you will save an amazing $4.99 wow what a deal). You'll get the free lvl 90 boost - its the same as buying the digital copy yourself, you just add the upgrade code to your battle.net account. Add me on Steam if interested, thx.

KIP WE CAN HANG OUT. I asked this morning and got an "eh why not", so I'm pretty sure oPlaiD and I will go.

#26 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware

Ugh, they have some pretty nice Massdrops going on right now for keyboard enthusiasts. Getting a little pissed with their shipping delays / QA snafus, though. There's a nice NAOS mouse up atm I'm thinking of ordering for oPlaiD. I'd love a Ducky Shine just to toy around with the obscene LED options, but I definitely agree that the bezel on that case is pretty gross. I'm very happy with the one on my Poker; I ordered white specifically with the keycaps in mind.

#341 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware

Woke up this morning and one of my monitors is dead. I had the other one repaired a year ago and it cost a small fortune, not going that route again so I'm going to replace them. Is the ASUS VG248QE still my best bet? I briefly looked at the 'up and coming' models and I'm not really down with spending $700 on a monitor.

Also, will there be any substantially noticeable different in going from a 1920x1200 monitor to 1920x1080 (comments from anyone who has done so, or uses both, appreciated)?

#23 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware

Love the aluminum case, fathom. Did you have any issues with the LEDs? The LEDs in the first keyboard Massdrop sent me were poorly installed and inconsistent, so I had to RMA the keyboard and get a replacement. The second batch they sent out had different white LEDs (a soft white, instead of the "bright" LED white).

I had gotten attached to the first ones, but since receiving new keycaps for the board I'm finally content.

#132 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread (last updated Sep. 9, 2013) in Hardware

Thanks for the heads up, tooth. I ordered the EC1 - they're both essentially the same mouse internally , correct? I thought I'd be okay with waiting for order fulfillment for an FK1 from Amazon but now my G400 is straight up spazzing out.

#15 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware

Looks like they're back (for a limited time blah blah):
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/kbc-poker-2-clear?mode=guest_open

"Due to the overwhelming demand (in purchases and requests) we've spoken to KBC and they have agreed to increase the production run from 300 units to 600 units*.

We have expressed concern about the increased volume affecting the production time and they have assured us that it won't add more than a few days to the entire multi-week process. The manufacturing costs will be the same but we'll save around $1000 on inbound freight costs (instead of running two drops), so we will pass those savings on to the group and discount all the keyboards by $2 dollars each. To ensure that everyone will have an opportunity to join the extended drop, we will be re-opening this buy on Wednesday at 6am PST.

Note: KBC was surprised by the number of backlit to non-backlit orders (about 5:1), and has given us the heads up that they'll be shipping two batches of keyboards to us, the non-backlits first (around 5 weeks from now) and the backlit's second (around 6-7 weeks from now).

*The actual drop will cap at 590 keyboards because we need a few extras to handle RMAs and DOAs."

#11 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware
TuggerFor what its worth, and to those who may not totally be informed on what a Poker II is or why its special, you can normally find these for 110$ or less if you shop around. Not sure where OP is seeing them overpriced, mechanicalkeyboards.com has them right now for 107 with free 3-5 day shipping. So this massdrop is really only appealing at all if you're a very patient soul who has always dreamed of typing on mx clears.

Clarified in OP, as I did find some stupid prices on them. It's worth mentioning that a lot of places will charge more for a board with MX Clears, so the price is right.

TuggerThe board is incredible though and extremely popular for coming with PBT keycaps (which normally run 40$ or more for a set). However I would never advise someone to use PBTs on an LED lit board unless you really like the look of under glow, the caps are much too thick to show much else unless you specifically purchase a translucent set. All of the above in consideration though, if you wanted a 60% keyboard with mx clears this is definitely one of the best opportunities to grab one.

Yeah, this is definitely something to keep in mind. There were a couple of posts on Reddit sharing the look of both keyboards with the backlighting. I'm using a these on my current board so I'm anticipating it'll look like shit if I move them over to the white PBT keycaps.

#18 ZOWIE FK1 Review in Hardware
ShiftamustardoverlordI've been using my tried and true mx518 for almost 4 years, what are the benefits of the fk1 over that mouse if I decide to try a change/my old mouse finally gives out
mx518 has angle snapping

might be weird though switching to a mouse without it

If you wanted to stick to something like your MX518, the Logitech G400s (its successor) doesn't have angle snapping. That was only present in the early run of G400s. It's also a pretty cheaper mouse; Amazon has the best price I've seen.

I think I'm going to try going from the G400 (I have one of the early ones) to the FK1 and see what happens. My biggest concern is switching to an ambidextrous mouse.

tomahawkDrewWhere the hell can I buy this.
You can currently buy it at Gamejava. Here is the link: http://www.gamejava.com/product_info.php?products_id=3267

Where the is it shipping from that they want me to pay $18.13 Ground shipping? Is there anywhere else that has it in stock that might be a little more forgiving on the shipping cost?

#4 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware
Mr_Harvard35 business days for shipping, no thank you.

Yeah, that's the bitch about Massdrop; likely won't see the keyboard until August or something. I personally don't mind because it's not like I don't already have a keyboard, but I could definitely see that being a turn-off, so anyone who's interested should keep that in mind. The drop itself is still running for 10 more days. I'm interested enough in the keyboard itself, and I know I probably won't really have a ton of other options to purchase the exact board (with the combination of body, switches, layout, backlighting, etc).

#1 Massdrop for KBC Poker II w/ MX Clears in Hardware

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/kbc-poker-2-clear?mode=guest_open

There's a limited opportunity on Massdrop to pick up a very well-made keyboard with harder-to-find MX clear switches. It's offered at a good price (they usually run $107-130 with the common switches). If you haven't used clears before, they're like browns but a little stiffer (that's what she said). Read more about the switches at Deskthority wiki. It's also worth mentioning that you can get either white or gray, and backlit versions are available for purchase (I think it was $12 more), which are also pretty hard to find (especially in 60% boards).

#18 Western Digital Green in Hardware

I've been using a WD Green drive for about 5 years with no issue, but do keep in mind that the drive is slow. WD doesn't advertise it, but it's a 5900 RPM drive and you might notice it. It's a good, reliable drive and if you don't think the speed will be an issue (and are more concerned with price) it's a great deal.

I went out to grab a new harddrive because I actually got tired of the slowness of the drive compared to the other ones in my machine (SSD and a 10K RPM) and I foolishly managed to buy another unlabeled 5900 drive. Apparently WD have sneakily repackaged the WD Green drives in this new arbitrary "Desktop Mainstream" classification, so I bought another 5900 RPM drive without realizing it (and I'll be returning it). However, like I said before, if you just want a good bit of storage for a good price, its not a bad drive. MicroCenter currently has the 3 TB model available for $99.
