Just as a heads up to any IM team leaders-
MAKE SURE TO TELL TRI YOUR TEAM WILL PLAY IM. He has a list and isn't psychic, so make sure he knows!
In case this thread gets dug up by any future troubleshooters, my issue was that my uni updated their firewall settings and traffic from mumble (alongside other sources) were mistakenly blocked or restricted. In the event this is happening to you, contact IT services.
In the event it is your ISP or country for whatever reason blocking mumble- the best solution is a good VPN (google for options, paid ones typically have fewer restrictions), and if you have access to one a proxy server can work as well (be mindful that free ones over the web oftentimes don't work for anything but browsers however)
michael-have you tried using a vpn? iirc mumble has a built in proxy option, try that. it's a shot in the dark, but it's worth a shot. also, just making sure, have you reset your network settings to default/made sure nothing's out of place?
We have a winner- Installed a vpn, mumble works with it.
I'm assuming it is an issue with the college internet then, which is rather annoying.
EDIT: WHOAH HOLD THE PHONE. It worked for like 2 minutes using a vpn then it stopped working again???????? idek wtf that is this is some weird bs.
EDIT 2: Idk it seems to be working again. Shits dumb. Any good vpn recommendations out there?
michael-are you using the 1.3.0 snapshot? if not, are you at least on 1.2.19?
Yeah I tried it with 1.2.19 and i currently have the snapshot installed again.
Before it broke i was using the snapshot.
daybraekI've had this issue, and for me it appeared to be on a server to server basis. I was able to fix it by having the owner of the server blacklist, then remove me from that blacklist. If this isn't possible/doesn't work for you, I would recommend having mumble re-authentify the server certificate of the server you are trying to join.
It's occurring for every server, not specific ones- even ones i have never joined before.
[10:13:56 PM] Server connection failed: The remote host closed the connection.
This error occurs for every mumble server I try to join, and has been lasting all day.
List of fixes I have tried:
- Restarting Computer
- Restarting wifi connection (using a USB wifi card)
- Reinstalling mumble (including different versions)
- Disabling Quality of Service
- Running as administrator
- Deleting mumble.sqlite
- Running in compatibility mode
- Disabling antivirus
Possibly relevant information:
I am using windows 10
Other voip programs still function fine- only mumble is broken
On college wifi
EDIT: contacted IT services at my college and got things fixed.
Stuff has added up over time. The med speed matching buff, the sticky nerf, and the popularization of gunboats have all helped to increase the power of scout in 6s. Scout is insane in 5cp and in low-medium player counts, so the effects of all this stuff getting added together is really noticeable. I wouldn't say there is really anything wrong to begin with- but the solution to whatever problem people are having isn't in unlocks lol.
bearodactylI don't want to be that guy but what exactly do these orgs actually have to offer?
Sponsoring an invite team makes sense cause fees are $85 per person but in open it's only like $5 or something and in eu there are no league fees.
Maybe I'm just overly pessimistic but it seems like giving these orgs free advertising in exchange for next to nothing (unless the open teams end up sticking together and playing invite but let's be real how often does that happen)
For an open team, its $10 per person for fees + premium (which can be up to like 20). It isn't as much as invite, but its not like its "free advertising". 60 dollars if just fees, up to 180 if they help with premium in exchange for promoting their org. I'm not opposed to that tbh.
VisWhy does TFCL not count?
TFCL lasts over a full season length, and because it lasts so long many people don't bother with it. A small amount of good teams sign up, and you have to potentially wait weeks to play against them. "Seasons" of ultiduo are cool I guess, but tournaments are better
placing bets on team yight
i just want a NA ulti tournament its been like 1 year and 8 months since the last one
EDIT: BEFORE U SAY IT TFCL DOESN'T COUNT
