Really cool project!
I'm looking into possibly using the demo parsing bits to take demos from Tempus and turn them into a different format for playback with my TAS plugin (basically to remove other players while recording). Been looking through the source for a bit and noticed that the parsing for UserCmds is blank, however. I understand that it's not exactly important to have that info for demos.tf, but is there a plan to add this in to make it a more general purpose demo parser?
I've added you on steam because I really want to talk some more about this.
Bhopping on jump maps is generally used as a strat (or intentional mechanic) to skip otherwise long/annoying/impossible jumps. It requires a tick-perfect jump input in order to work successfully, and learning when to press space at the right time is generally the recommended way for that context. When bhopping in actual gameplay (as a way to gain speed), it isn't exactly very practical to use space because it doesn't necessarily have to be frame perfect, just at some time shortly after you hit the ground, so scrollwheel is generally miles easier. It is still possible with spacebar but you are much more likely to mess up.
Shpeeismehow does it need to be signed?
Only client plugins signed by valve can be loaded without -insecure. If they aren't being signed anymore like someone said above then there aren't really any options for replacing the plugin. I would like to imagine that now that valve is doing stuff with mm that they would be more open to it now though.
