SICK game was a lot of fun to cast
Saying 'you should be happy instead' is like saying 'ik ur grieving rn but these intense emotions ur experiencing are invalid because it was actually good that you lost someone close to you'.
I appreciate that you were trying to see the bright side in it and it seems like you had good intentions but as a general rule don't take that road when speaking to people that are grieving..
The comparisons I use to judge player performances when looking at logs are usually damage done vs damage taken, heals received and deaths (net damage is a decent indicator for performance in team fights for most roles, maybe not short leash pocket; heals received is a good indicator of how many resources they use; and deaths is obviously a good indicator of the proportion of time they're affecting the game as far as stats go). This gives a bit more context to their performance, and then I'll try to build in my knowledge of player styles and tendencies to gauge how they performed according to their style.
I think this works pretty well with the exception of high level demo, where a lot more impact in slow games can be had with purely area denial - I've found it's often the case in structured games that good demo performances aren't always reflected in the stats.
Edit: This doesn't work well with offclassing, but I don't use it for statistical analysis in the same way you would Jon :D
I feel like demo soldier and medic all step up enough on lan.. idk if its just me but I feel the class balancing is pretty solid right now when ping isn't a factor..

The style they've been playing with alle calling is a halfway measure between the methodical stifling play that they were known for and a messy version of aggressive tf2 - but they've been getting away with it because there's no real competition in eu. People think they've been super dominant and yeah sure if you look solely at the results of last season they won everything but they were making a lot of mistakes that former iterations of the lineup did not (AF gave them closer matches than 7 should have allowed). They became complacent last season, that much is obvious but like I said with kaidus calling I'm sure they will adapt to address this and eliminate a lot of the mistakes in their play.

When I think of old form kaidus I mean the 6 death 11k damage kinda guy from early reason, not old kaido with the (dumb) flashy plays

I'd expect kaidus to get back to being the standout best demo in Europe in <2 weeks, he's always been very reliant on muscle memory so his mechanics will still be there, it's just a matter of getting back into the habits of high level play (which again won't take long as he's been doing it for so long).
Comparing 7 to i58 crowns is an interesting one.. I'd expect thalash to be nearly identical to haffi in ability, but maybe a little less disciplined - and the only team that could exploit this difference (if at all) will be froyo. Going forward though, it wouldn't surprise me if thalash became better than haffi as a result of playing with kaidus in game because he demands a lot of his players and I'd expect thalash to step up accordingly.
The main difference is in kaidus calling and playing simultaneously, whereas in crowns kaidus could call and Spudd could focus on his individual play (as far as I'm aware this was the case @ i58). Spudd was extraordinarily good at playing his individual role in the team and maximising his impact (I consider him probably a top 2 demo since nerf in this regard), and I feel like with kaidus calling he will have a tendency to take more of the teams resources and they will very much centre their play around him.
All things considered, I think they will be better at playing their current style and that will be their biggest strength. I think this iteration of the roster will be the best team of all time when it comes to controlling the pace of the game, but unless they work on adapting their style (which I'm sure they will tbh) then I still think well coordinated aggression will be too much for them. On paper they'll be the strongest team in the world (based on what I've seen) by the end of this season. If froyos roster stays stable now then it'll make for a very good matchup (if i61 happens) but it's way too early to make predictions.

Finally someone who gets it.. that being said, despite kaidus' current form being dubious in comparison to how alle was, you can't overlook the impact that gets made by his calls, which have a lot more structure than alle's. I think because of this we will see 7 even more unchallenged this season despite the marked improvement in the skill level from the last.
I thought gink took the season off from magic-making for exams but now he's returning to carry nunya???
shoutouts to degu for handling his production debut while serveme goes down and there are countless pauses
zeFrosty taught me everything I know and more

Yeah that's true, but I'm not overly concerned with placements when comparing teams performances and skill level in tournaments, I prefer to try understand what affected the teams in different ways and judging how they performed on that basis. I wouldn't say they were unstoppable but I considered them better than nR.

Reason provided them with the kit, I don't think they were aware of the specs beforehand, but I could be mistaken.
