thesupremecommanderDo you know if the elimination bracket is going to be purely best of 3, or will there be single-map matches as well? Also, are maps known for the bracket, or are they dependent on the group fixtures as well?
Sorry to bother with all of these questions!
EDIT: Also is there any info about the playoff for the last spot in the invite group, as mentioned in Admirable's article?
Most of the elimination will be best of 3 - it's probably only the first round that isn't right now, assuming we're running on time. It's a tight schedule but we can just about squash lots of BO3 action in. Maps for that haven't been set yet either, so tba until after groups are done.
The playoff idea was news to me - would love to see it happen :D needs to be done before 12 pm tomorrow though so not sure it's actually going to be physically possible.
Format:
Invite group (top 8) / groups of everyone else (top 2 go through, 4 groups)
Double elimination, starts with 16 teams, so you need to lose twice to be knocked out
The map pool has been defined, but exactly what/when they are being played will be defined tomorrow when signups are closed and fixtures are set. Finals maps will be team picked.
How much is the ticket without the first leg from Heathrow part on it? So Euston to Coventry. Might be that you have to just buy a separate ticket for the journey into London from the airport, and then pick the tickets up at Euston.
Yeah that looks like the hall next to what they used for the main stage last time, so actually I think it will be the other bit of hall attached to the current TF2 seating area. They had the chairs pushed back and just some tables in there (for the pub quiz) last time, which I guess will just be the BYOC seats now.
I've actually completely forgotten what the main stage plan was - did it ever transpire that they're using a big ass marquee on the pitch, or has that idea been squashed? I think i've slept too many times since i've actually read anything about the stage :D
@atmo - a) is not viable at all - their prime community event (the pub quiz) is on the main stage at 9 pm on a Saturday, every event, without fail. Also yeah, b) ain't happening.
Still no idea what the theory is behind the 9 pm finish, other than it means they can finish at a sensible time (like 11 pm) when everything inevitably runs over (dota, broken servers)
Yeah, that's manually done by someone at Multiplay. They've just taken the rule page from ~i49/i50 there for now. I need to actually submit the updates, which I can't provide details yet because i've not written them. Assume that it will largely mirror current ETF2L setup in rule sets (so weapon restrictions, rounds/time limits) - just there might be a map missing or extra etc. not sure yet!
