I play soldier so I don't always see damage text (spam from around corners etc). Mumble comms during serious play and music during casual pubbing blocks out my hitsound sometimes. It's just my preference D:

I know all about tf2mate's crosshair switcher but I use omphud and his custom crosshair with an added "pulse" effect so that the crosshair turns red when I hit an enemy. I play with viewmodels off for my primary secondary on nearly all of my classes and I lose track of what weapon I have out so I've been looking for a way to keep the style of crosshair (a cross) and simply make it yellow instead of green when I switch to my secondary. Pressing Q when I have my secondary or melee out switches to my primary. Pressing Q when I have my primary out switches to my secondary. I switch to my melee with 3.

Can anybody help me out, or just point me in the right direction or am I out of luck? The only solution I've been able to think up is to turn on the ingame crosshairs and make a color switcher for the default style.

Personally? It would not go over very well. If I was daft enough not to realize that my girlfriend of 8 months has a penis and I found out because we tried to have sex for the first time then I'd feel both upset and extremely stupid.

I have no idea what it's like to be in her shoes but she should probably be upfront about it and tell him instead of let him find out like that. It's very likely that the situation would be extremely awkward.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Dota 2 is the successor to an already widely popular title and it's being actively supported by Valve. That game had a devout community following before it even hit the alpha stages. A lot of Dota 2 players probably played Dota so they aren't exactly newbies to the game. TF2 is its own beast though. Going competitive is probably an extremely daunting goal to a newbie.

Besides that, TF2 just isn't as well respected as Dota 2, or most competitive PC games in general. To Valve, TF2 is a cash cow. To most PC gamers, TF2 is a F2P casual game. To most gamers in general, TF2 is a crappy kiddie game. This just means the community needs to treat each other well to ensure that this competitive scene doesn't die out due to lack of support, sponsors, and coverage.

I'm an idiot and I've had it bound to F for the past two years. I really want to unlearn it and try a less stupid key (one that doesn't mitigate my movement while I talk, like MOUSE4 or MOUSE5) but I can't get used to anything else.

While this thread is pretty darn silly I do agree that intro threads gum up the "latest threads" section at times. Is there any way to exclude threads from that subforum from that feed?

In response to the topic brownymaster linked, this was recently brought up for the purpose of being able to fit "tf.tv/[user's name here]" into their steam name. "______ | teamfortress.tv/______" alone takes up 19 of the 32 characters available for a steam name, meaning only people with a <7 character long alias can fit their alias, a separator, and a link to their profile in their steam name.

It'd just be a nice luxury. If it's overly expensive or too much work (and apparently it is) then it's no biggie to drop it.

How do I make my crosshair pulse on hit? I can't find any info on it in the readme or this thread. I may not be looking hard enough.

It's a well designed map but I think its main problems are that it's weak for HL because it's 5cp and it's weak in 6s because it's fucking huge. This is probably the only map that's best played in a 24man pub.

Oh man it's on steam now. I weaned myself off of this game a few months ago and now I get to track stats. Why me.
