RothMumaSUSAltdI tried both and neither really helped. My ears didn't really stop being in pain until this morning actully. It fucking sucks.MumaMiserable. I hate flying. How badly my ears hurt is enough to make me never want to travel by plane ever again.For the ears thing I would recommend yawning a bunch while taking off and while descending. I've heard chewing gum also helps but I have no idea about that.
Hold your nose and attempt to blow out of it. Do it right now and you should feel it inside your ear canal. The pain is usually from pressure and this relieves it.
Be careful doing this if you are at all prone to bloody noses. I did this when landing and started bleeding, only had one tissue to last me the 45 minutes we spent circling the air strip and driving to the gate while not being able to move out of my seat. Most of the time when I fly now I take a benadryl right away to try and clear away any congestion in my sinuses which the pressure usually comes from.
