#9 Help me build my TF2 PC in Hardware
liasI got a 1.4ghz overclock with a significantly cheaper board. I would recommend this over the board you have. Not overclocking the g3258 basically defeats it's entire point. (H97 can't overclock)Gemmellnessofficially Hxx series boards can't overclock, but apparently they can allow changes to the multiplier due to old microcode... read this

anyway, i'd say you can save $30 off the mboard by getting a H8x/Z8x/B8x chipset instead (B allows overclocking but no onboard graphics, Z allows both) since you don't need the newer features. make sure to research it to make sure it can overclock the pentium though

also i recommend buying older processors used, you can probably save another $20 there

Alright, thanks a lot!

#4 Help me build my TF2 PC in Hardware
Barry_ChucklepellyxI have a strict budget of 200 Euros. I pretty much play just TF2 and some very lightweight games. I have already experimented and made this list:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mNxsRB

For the case, storage & GPU plan to re-use from my old PC.

If this list is bad, please tell me why, and tell me how to improve it.
Also, since TF2 is CPU heavy, i also planned to buy a good CPU-fan and overclock it, or maybe you can recommend me a better processor.

Thanks, much love.

Could you find the gpu that you're using and add it to the list, but select the option that you've already bought this part. Then we can get a proper look.

Oh and also, I see you've got a $20 mail-in rebate from newegg. If you're in EU it will probably work out more expensive to buy it from there.

That is the list with the card i have. It the Radeon HD 6570. It is old, but performs well.

zeSIMONpellyxWhat command disables dropback? (the outside of the map that you cant reach)

When i join a game, maps always feel empty without dropback. I want to enable it even if it lowers my fps a lot.

I guess you are talking about the skybox?
r_3dsky 1 should enable it :)

Thank you very much :)
1 more question. Command "cl_ejectbrass 0" should prevent bullets coming out of the minigun, but it doesnt work for me for some reason. Is it be cause of sv_pure 1 or something?

#12 Windows tuning for good FPS in Customization
pazerBenchmarks before and after? Otherwise we have no way of knowing if this is even worth doing or if it's all placebo.

I got a 25 fps boost from all this. My pc is really bad so every frame counts.

#146 Danpixed's MaxFPS compilation in Customization

Danpixed, can you please add CPU Unparking app to your features? It's perfectly safe and gives an FPS boost.

#8 will i get better performance by upgrading my cpu? in Q/A Help
yukiAssuming you don't have too many background programs 4GB of RAM should be fine. If you like having more programs open while playing games/doing other tasks, 8GB RAM is a good amount, or if you plan on using Video/Audio/Image editing software etc.

Ok thanks. I dont leave any programs open while playing so 4GB will be fine for me.

#5 will i get better performance by upgrading my cpu? in Q/A Help
funhaver1998yup for sure you'll get better performance, but how large the performance gain also depends on your gpu too.
before upgrading you should really check on which processors will work together with the rest of your computer. people would be able to help you out more if you list each part of it.

Okay so cpu and gpu are important.

I have 4 gb of ram, is that enough?

MubbyThis might help. Also try changing the command mat_trilinear 1 to mat_trilinear 0 that seemed to boost me a little.

I will try, thanks. <3
