#1 Streaming - radium in Requests

Hi guys.

I want to start streaming really soon. I have everything configured EXCEPT TF2 - and I'm ironing that out tonight hopefully.

http://www.twitch.tv/thisisradium

Country: USA
Content: About 70% TF2, a few other mixed games as well
History: Have been playing actively since S12.

Love, radium

#16 Roamerperson lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

Good. He's deserving of either an IM playoff team or a lower-half Main team next season.

He's a very crafty player. He's also not the type to bail when things get hard.

His skill level has been on a gradual upward trajectory over the past 2.5 seasons (late S13: mid/high Open, S14: low IM, S15: middish IM, today: probably upper IM). There are no red flags that should hinder his methodical growth going forward.

#116 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion

2639 frames 55.645 seconds 47.43 fps (21.09 ms/f) 1.823 fps variability

CPU: Intel 2 Core Quad Q8200 ~2.33GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 340
Resolution: 1200x800
Full-Screened
No FPS configs, shadows enabled - tried to put tf2 on low-ish settings

I'll try to put an FPS config on this and see what happens. I don't know if this is good or shit.

#6 LF Players! in Recruitment (looking for team)
SleepingLifeRadium, that sort of mentality works well when you also understand the level of play you're going into. The person above has no esea experience and this would be his first season. Going into your first season with those sorts of expectations from your team is destructive. It would be far better to set the bar for something approachable, like trying to go equal, or simply using the season to get a feeling for the state of play in esea.

I know a number of players that went into their first season of Open blind and did just fine. Most of them are in IM or above.

Neither you nor I can legitimately dismiss this team until we see evidence to prove their unworthiness.

They shouldn't contend next season - but I'm not going to drive the stake in ANY team until they are mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.

#4 LF Players! in Recruitment (looking for team)
SleepingLifeEsea isn't like UGC, doing well in plat means nothing in terms of doing well in open.

I would rather play for a captain that sets aggressive goals and falls short than a captain that sets the bar pathetically low and limps over it.

They won't win open, but the idea here is that when they do fall short it ends up taking them to the postseason anyway since they worked so hard to achieve their goal.

Then again, I'm the kind of idiot that wants to play at the highest level that I could weasel my way into - even if I was under-qualified going into it.

You play to win the championship - even if you're not the best team. That's the whole point of competitive play in my opinion.

#33 Pocket (man..) in Recruitment (looking for team)

Griff needs to find a team with a strong-willed team captain that can provide a good mental outlet for him. He has all of the energy in the world, but he will not be able to take the next step in his game until he learns to channel some of it and put some purpose behind his action.

I think a little peer-review could do him wonders. He's always playing (good), but I'm not sure if he's getting the most out of it in regards to getting better (not good). He could actually do better by scrimming LESS and being more mindful about how he's doing it.

There's a really good player hiding in this guy - and he really just needs a little assistance with finding him. For that reason, I think he's a excellent "future investment" for a team in the top half of Open. I think that he's a great "energizer bunny" for a team - although I do not think he should lead.

He doesn't have any real personality flaws that stand out. He also has a really big heart - although I think he gets too afraid to show it and should speak his mind a little more.

(I apologize that this is not a bundle of roses when it comes to a looking thread post, but I think that stroking him off isn't what he really needs to hear going forward. Yeah, I do care about this guy.)

#30 LFT LOW/MID IM in Recruitment (looking for team)

His attitude and outlook on the game have come a long way since his days in Open. It's rare to see someone who probably saw himself as a "hot shot" back then turn into a more selfless team player. He's always had above-average DM for the division he's played in, but I think that he's slowly becoming a more complete package and a better teammate.

It's been nothing but a pleasure seeing someone like him turn the corner. Great person to have on a team for next season.

#6 Open team lfp in Recruitment (looking for team)

Pretty decent medic, nice people, and IM-level scouts that will torment the shit out of a lot of people in Open.

#8 Selling 120hz monitor. in Hardware

thrasher, would you consider bringing it to FITES? I could buy it straight off of you there. I'm in the market for a monitor, but I don't want to pay $250+ for one.

#18 How "into" the holidays are you? in Off Topic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQRW1aspsRw

This remake of "Santa Baby" best describes what Christmas really is in my opinion. I didn't gain an appreciation for how much parents spend until I got older and started to give good gifts as well...

...I have trouble telling my parents what I want for Christmas these days as at my age I realize that the "cost of the season" is insane.

He's definitely a good add for any team - and I'd even go as far as to say that he's worth building a team around provided you have the right supporting cast.

My favorite two things about him are that he has constructive comms and a humble attitude. He's not the type that will turn into a diva mid-season.

Pretty pleasant person, pretty good demo. He should be able to compete in IM next season without much issue as he'll have time to tune up his game.

#4 LFT Roamer IM+ esea/cevo in Recruitment (looking for team)

I don't get the -frags.

SpaceCadet played for GET WRECKED last season in IM (and I believe he played a full season). I believe that by the start of next season he could be a good IM player on a playoff-contending team. He's not perfect, but I think he'll surely get there with a stable team to grow around.

He showed a lot of character in holding together a roster last season despite a rough go of things.

<3 showstopper and alec.

Could sneak into next season's playoffs if they find the right kind of people. They're pretty determined.

#12 Fog LFT 6s Roamer/HL Soldier (Mid-Open/Silver) in Recruitment (looking for team)

Fog's a decent guy to talk with if you ever get the chance. There's no reason why he couldn't play on a playoff Open team as a roamer once he adjusts back into life as a solly. His medic experience should help inform his roamer play (especially timing/location of medic bombs).

He's worth a trial to see if he fits the description of what you're looking for.
