its really not that big of a deal, shit happens and circumstances change all the time. There will be a great selection of players to form invite teams next season, hopefully with some new up and coming faces.
Making accusations that this is going to kill tf2 is pure nonsense, teams always die and they will continue to die forever
I've been playing this game a long time and only until recently have I been unable to balance my academic workload with scrims every night of the week, and I will have to quit and "kill" my team if i get too far behind in my classes this semester, this doesn't make me a bad person just someone who has to deal with real life bullshit for once, like everyone else

weeble disapeared when he moved into his college dorm, a normal scenario where a "good kid" who never really experimented in high school realizes that mommy will never find out what he is doing in college, whether gets piss drunk, high, whatever.
This realization almost always spirals out of control, people lose their self control and just binge, because no one is telling them what to do, and they have the most freedom they've ever had in their life.
I've seen this phenomenon occur multiple times, it's also the reason most people bomb their first semester at school
