Getawhale, who hosted events like i61 last year, posted a tweet about how he will not be going to i63 to host the event: https://twitter.com/Getawhale/status/1022331881700904960
Regrettably, I will not be attending i63. I will miss all of you. I love seeing everybody. I really mean that, it'll be tough to watch in August and not be there.
a few days later he streamed with the title "Not Going to i63, AMA" and talked about what happened and why he was not going. there are things he says in this vod, as well as other staff members of both essentials and tftv, that seem kind of fucked up and might affect i63. here is the vod:

i have transcribed and timestamped what getawhale and other staff talk about that i feel like are the juiciest details of what he disclosed:
26:49 getawhale denies question in chat about not being asked to host i63, confirms he was asked host for i63. uberchain, who is a photographer and writer for tftv, speaks up about how they wish things had changed this time around.
27:18 getawhale prefaces by saying he has nothing against wolf machina, owner of essentials, as a person. uncle dane in chat says that there is a petty rivalry between two people who founded essentials; getawhale confirms there is no rivalry. he goes on to talk about teamfortresstv and essentials having a rivalry during i61 - tftv decided they were not going to produce i61, so essentials decided to do it
27:58 getawhale says that i61 had no communication between multiplay and essentials, mainly from wolf machina. he was approached by someone who had friends at multiplay who claim multiplay was worried about essentials' production, specifically the lack of communication and disorganization from wolf to the point where multiplay was concerned the production would flop, and asked getawhale if the production failed would getawhale be interested in backup production from multiplay
30:15 i61 volunteers such as heny helped make the show successful. getawhale says that on the surface and the stream i63 was a success but he says the production behind the scenes was "not great" last year, and people that were watching and paying attention where he wasn't sure what was going on and was trying to talk to production. he had no idea what was happening
31:45 because of his experience, getawhale felt better equipped to deal with technical issues during the cast over a less inexperienced host who might not have been able to handle lack of communication. there were times when person at the mixer was not there or headphones were off, not paying attention or unaware of what was happening. getawhale covered up the mistakes when he was hosting. normally host works directly with director or producer who communicates, but essentials did not do this with him and because of his job experience, he knew it was not professional, calls it a "mess". confirms what uberchain says about says warhuryeah and getawhale both "asking to straight up yelling at production live on cast at points and your voice wore out by grand finals" during i61 stream
33:26 talking about i63 now. says he didn't feel so bad because last year people were concerned since nobody knew what essentials was, but since then they've done cups and did i61 as well as smaller lan events, so now they probably know what they're doing. says that's what he THOUGHT.
console, who is an observer, producer, and caster for tftv and essentials, appears in chat to say "getawhale not attending i63 FeelsBadMan getawhale realizing Wolf Machina's garbage regime isnt worth working with"
getawhale says he realized several things:
- a lot of the people from i61's production are not doing i63's production such as heny who was an admin for essentials, wiethoofd who was apparently fired by essentials, ondkaja who observed at i58 and other events for essentials. he says that the people who have left essentials did not leave amicably
- getawhale says a leaked quote from wolf that exists in a screenshot form that said "I have a plan to fix everything, I just need to do it all myself". getawhale feels like wolf wants to do the organization by himself, then have staff show up during setup and he just tells them what to do. console confirms it was a dm wolf had sent him, says that essentials was considering flying him out from the US to do production until wolf realized the flight was too expensive.
36:40 talks about lange and dashner's former production and how there was communication, says that communication is what helped on-site events such as tip of the hats or esea lans, and it does not happen without "a shitload of planning for weeks or even months".
37:38 getawhale went to the essentials public discord to ask if he was part of production. he shows the essentials discord. on may 23rd, he asked if he was staff. june 18th he tags wolf directly and asks if he was part of i63 and to let him know. july 10th he sends a message expressing his frustration over wolf ignoring him and asks "what the fuck is going on?". july 22nd is the first message he got from wolf, which was less than a week from the stream
console says that wolf assumed that cornpop was attending i63 to cast until the day before getawhale's stream "even tho cornpop has said MULTIPLE times its very unlikely he goes"
40:05 getawhale was on the fence about going to i63 but decided this was the last straw as to why he should not go. says he explained to wolf that he doesn't think wolf is running i63 production well, no communication with staff about the production is insane and that he's never ever had to deal with it since 2013 when he began hosting and casting, until now. uncle dane says in chat that he has "heard inklings of this kinda thing from Pazer, who develops Casting Essentials"
40:50 due to i63's planning stage being a mess again and learning and changing nothing from i61, as well as wolf's desire to do everything himself and "tossing away everyone around him that was so talented and helping so much to get everything done", getawhale decided he did not want to be a part of i63. Captain_Smirk1 in chat says to not tell Wolf that and don't mess with him. getawhale rebukes that by saying that people are pretending it's fine and nobody is saying a word to wolf that while he thinks production is perfect, production is not perfect. he reiterates that he was not trying to insult wolf as a person, but it's in hopes that wolf has a wake-up call to realize that he has not been doing things well and should make more effort
chris_________ in chat asks why essentials exists as a separate entity from tftv. console says that it is because wolf wanted to make his own organization. uberchain says that essentials has a personal grudge against the dashner era of tftv, expands to say they pivoted from a hub for all things tf2 to take advantage of the competitive scene when people like Lange, Sideshow, and Dashner retired or stopped being as motivated.
42:00 wolf quit his job to work full-time on essentials. even if he was doing a great job with it, getawhale feels you do not quit your job to focus on tf2 cast, "not even sigafoo has quit his job for RGL"
43:00 says that due to realizing how much of a joke it was as well as other IRL considerations, it was easy for getawhale to decide to not go. if the only reason he was going to go was to be part of a production that was in shambles that might come together or might not, he doesn't want to be a part of that AGAIN.
