#1 Open software updater?? in Off Topic

Recently while browsing tftv, I randomly get redirected to some mock Google Chrome page telling me that it needs to update my "open software" and it's quite obviously a scammy sort of thing.

This is only happening on my desktop, and only on tftv, nowhere else. Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm scanning my computer at this moment, and I double checked that I do not have any sketchy "open software" add ons in my browser or my computer.

Any help would be appreciated

#10 Lost my favourites? in Q/A Help

Still no solution to this, I presume?

I noticed that this only happened after I changed my HUD. From that angle, does anybody have a possible cause?

#39 How do you dry yourself? in Off Topic

I do the 'glove' method where I put the towel over my shoulders over my back, and then use my hands to dry myself with the ends of the towel. I do this so I'm not cold right out of the shower.

#30 When did you start playing TF2? in TF2 General Discussion

Installed the game in the winter of 2011, after I got a computer that could run the game.

#1 How do you dry yourself? in Off Topic

What is your method for drying yourself after taking a shower (or swimming, etc.)?

Do you have a reason behind your method?

#75 How long have you been around? in Off Topic

In 8th grade, a ton of kids in my school were playing it. I was like, "What is this TF2?"

I got my first computer in 8th grade, then I got a Steam and installed TF2. One of my friends told me that he wrote a little bit for CommFT (his name was steelfirez) and that kinda got me into it. I actually bothered to start learning about ESEA and all the players and stuff after stumbling upon squid's stream about a year later.

So yeah it's been a solid 3-4 years.

#56 What Are Your Casting Preferences? in TF2 General Discussion

I actually really like seeing overall team health. Like loljk said, it shows the tide of the fight before picks start coming in. eXtv tried doing that for some matches, and it was great. It wasn't intrusive at all, nor did it take up any viewing space.

#12 College Gaming Plans in Off Topic

So you don't really need a laptop for college? Interesting.

The High-End desktop + Chromebook combination sounds pretty attractive right about now. At this point I'm only debating between whether or not to even take a small little netbook with me.

This is so strange, because so many people I've know say that they use their laptops extensively outside of their dorms. For those that do end up taking laptops, what do you generally use them for?

#1 College Gaming Plans in Off Topic

It's definitely a bit early, but I have been thinking about this for quite a while now.

I'm not quite sure about how to go about gaming in college. Obviously, many people are able to effectively prioritize work over playing, while still getting a decent amount of gaming time in. I'm just not sure as to how one can balance a social life, good grades, and some gaming on the side.

Also, laptop or full setup? I was originally planning on taking a pretty high end PC to college, but after speaking to close friends in college, I was told that portability is very very important during college, and that having a laptop is essential.
With gaming in mind, how would one go about staying portable while having desirable performance?

#1 Roger Federer - Another Grand Slam Passes By in Off Topic

Once again, at the cusp of victory, Federer loses his chance at his 18th Grand Slam title. Tragedy upon tragedy falls upon the tennis community. At this point, as much as it pains me to say it, I think that Federer has reached the point where he can't do it anymore. Someone please tell me I'm wrong and that there is still hope for the one and only Fed-Express.
