Are razer tournaments that big though? all i can see is an $100 one? sure its weekly but it won't gather the same hype as a bigger one less often.

Greetings - i'm a long time follower of TF2, and a massive Esports enthusiast! i love TF2, mainly the competitive side more than anything - but it makes me sad to not see frequent tournaments (even online ones) and even just decent games to inspire me to play.

My question is, Is there any tournaments that are directly community funded? like through a kickstarter straight to the prize pool? i'm aware that We funded teams to go to Iseries from america, but other than the large donations to the iseries prizepools, why can't WE put the money towards it if we want? or can we?

As far as i've seen there really isn't any tournaments like this, which i think TF2 is missing, I recently set up something like this in Bloodline champions (a tiny community MOBA game on steam) and for the first we managed to raise about $700, which for a game that averages 60 players a day is great! we had player icons, etc as rewards for different tiers of donation, we got someone to stream it aswell and it really felt like the community and pro scene had come together. I'm wondering if anyone would want something like this in TF2? we could have skin raffles, names on stream, other giveaways etc as prizes for the tiers of donations, aswell as being able to watch the game we love being played by the best! (if there is already a tournament that does this, please point me in the direction as i would love to do my part!) Sorry for long post, but hey, let me know if you think this would be possible in this scene!

TLDR; Is there a community funded tournament, if so post details below, if not should we get one? to help this scene carry on untill valve finally helps us!
