#8 Florida Lan - reaching out to the community in TF2 General Discussion
DoctorMiggyshadeWith the figures provided, is that including sets of PC's for people to use or is this assuming every person will BYOC?

What area are you looking at for the LAN and do you mind discussing what venue you are proposing? Also will the venue be providing all the set up needed, network cables, power strips, chairs, tables, etc etc?

The 1.5k is for both the rental of the venue space and the insurance needed for said space should there by an accident on site.
No, that doesn't include PC's.
I was hoping to get a local company (Such as Origin PC) to help out with PC's by letting me borrow a few as they do in their own events. They had 0 interest in sponsoring a TF2 only event, this is the only reason why I felt the need to include CS:GO. If I can find a sponsor willing to let me borrow some rigs for a TF2 only event then great, I'll drop CS:GO in a heartbeat. Alternatively, if everyone is fine being 100% responsible for bringing their own systems then I can work with that too.

I want to include Smash either way as it's a really fun game and having a TV+Console setup doesn't take much space at all.

If anyone has any more questions please feel free to ask and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
Geel, if you would like to discuss specifics I'll be more than happy to discuss them over PM or Steam so the thread doesn't get cluttered.

Also just a thought but adding something like Hearthstone is extremely easy to accommodate since it is on mobile and PC and tends to draw a ton of people interested in playing. Just a consideration to think about.

#15 i55 vloggers, lend me your channels in LAN Discussion
SideshowI'll still be uploading vlogs on my channel but less than last time ofc.

I think I'll go ahead and do a ton of videos this year and in between shooting videos my snapchat will basically be a constant stream of stuff going on at the event and quick 5-6 seconds awkward situations for anyone I feel like making uncomfortable for the moment.

kosI might make a snapchat account for i55 if I spec. Not sure if I could get a lot of content out if I was playingfatswimdudeit would be cool to have maybe a snapchat representative from every team, or at least from the big 5. spectator snapchats would be cool too.

What is the benefit of Snapchat over something like Twitter or Vine or even just Instagram in general? Wouldn't people want this content to last and be able to be revisited? (Unless snapchat has it so you can go back and watch content and I didn't know that) I'll start up a Snapchat for the event if everyone is interested but I just never considered that to be ideal compared to something like twitter/instagram/youtube/etc.

Edit: Screw it, I made a snapchat for FROYOTECH. Add it up. I think this is how you do it. Please help.

I plan on going absolutely crazy with videos this year.

www.youtube.com/shadetf2

I'll also be posting a ton of pictures on twitter on the FROYO page

www.twitter.com/froyotech

I've been wanting to just enjoy being in the moment at the last couple LANs but I'll go ahead and go all out on this one with the content. Not just TF2 either. I'll try and talk with some random LAN goers and any pseudo gaming celebs or vendors too.

#27 Froyotech T-shirt in TF2 General Discussion

@Poopy_ can you confirm to me your Paypal email via PM. I went ahead and looked up that order number as it seemed familiar to me. According to my Paypal records you sent a charge back notice in February which was settled by Paypal returning the money for the shirt and throwing a $20.00 bonus fee my direction.

http://i.imgur.com/5WtTRIn.jpg

Perhaps I am incorrect and for some reason you did not receive that money back due to an issue with Paypal but I just want to make sure we can clarify if I have the correct email being used for your order or not.

@Phunk PM me your Paypal account and I'll send you the refund tonight. I have a gmail account on record but Paypal says it is not registered so I want to make sure it is the correct one for your order as well.

Going forward I need a PAYPAL REGISTERED EMAIL along with the order number to process any refund. I had two people not even have a Paypal account that I tried sending back the money to for their refunds.

#53 Fantasy TF2: Let’s do this! in Projects
kounterpartsThe scoring currently makes medics pretty useless, maybe every x/heals per minute +1 point

Adding assists would add to the medic scoring. Also I think Kills By Medic could be +3. But that is not due to any possibly personal reasons. Kappa.

Maybe a .5 point for each assist.

Any idea what the % of likeliness of adding weekly competitions/cups at some point during this season?

Would love to be able to experiment with different builds and such throughout each week. Might be a good way to test adding new slots as well, such as a team slot, utility slot, additional demo/medic slot, etc, etc.

#54 ESL and ESEA to host $1 million league in CS2 News
lanskyit has nothing to do with them being hurt about shit on a forum

i talked to lpkane and he actually likes the tf2 people he gets to meet at lan. the company wants to have tf2 because they enjoy saying they're not exclusively a csgo league and having TF2 in that corner of the venue doesn't impede them at all since they prefer to have one game being played at a time for the CSGO event anyway.

however, he mentioned that if they had the opportunity to expand csgo to the extent mentioned in the article, they would be forced to drop lan support for TF2. im not 100 on the details why its no longer as simple as putting tf2 in a corner, but it is what it is

This is basically the same conversation I had with him. I was able to talk with lpkane quite a bit as I was helping set up some digital billboards for them right by the venue, hence why you might have seen some pictures of a FROYOTECH billboard at LAN, and the bottom line came down to this:

Lpkane likes TF2. He likes being able to say that ESEA doesn't ONLY have CS:GO but that they also have another game that they support. However, the goal is to move their CSGO LAN's to a different format/venue in the future, although not finalized and wasn't really expanded upon entirely, and if this change takes place there will likely not be room/time to host the TF2 LAN at the same event. If ESEA doesn't host a TF2 LAN he doesn't really feel that it is necessary to run a season for it either.

So basically, if they decide to move the venue/setup to promote the CSGO side of things they will likely drop TF2 from LAN, if they drop TF2 from LAN they will likely not host a season for TF2 either.
