biskuitthe surfaceproperties.txt barely gives you any fps, custom particles don't work on competitive servers and -dxlevel 81 has been proven to be more stable than -dxlevel 80
Actually I was perfectly happy with just dx81 and a config until I noticed conspicuous lag whenever I looked closely at a bullet dust object. I don't think a benchmark.dem would capture this difference but it's made my game feel considerably smoother and I would definitely recommend the script to anyone looking to improve performance.
