I think it's pretty fair. Otherwise you could just give up mid and go full turtle mode.

If a player's real/original steam name is literally "9i86uhnrtgersv" but everyone calls them "dave" in spoken language, then what are you going to do...?
Edit: I'm slow today. The solution is a hud that lets casters over-write the displayed name with something easier for viewers to pick up on.

He still has a point. Imagine if a guy called 009EFF (legit etf2l alias) played in a casted game. How'd you call him?
Timer was stuck at 25 minutes for too long.
There was a rule to use your ETF2L aliases for Prem officials, which was quite strict (IIRC TLR got a warning 'cause WAR was using WAR instead of full WARHURYEAH). Don't know what happened to it.
It's actually still there (1.8.2).
