At no point should you let the victim's name be mentioned in public when they do not consent to it because you are further damaging their already fragile mental state as a victim of abuse whether it's sexual or verbal abuse.
I would like to say that if you are a bystander in these LANs where you can visibly see abuse happening and you let it slide, you are enabling it by extension of keeping silence.
As a victim of abuse throughout multiple occasions in my life I can understand the shame and fear that a victim would feel regarding their abuse and why they wouldn't want to bring it to people's knowledge, especially when they fear for losing things that they value and love like their ability to participate in their favourite community. Had others known of abuse that I experienced and approached me about it when it happened I would be taken aback but I would still want the support of my friends and possibly taking action against my abusers.
This goes back to both personal societal events throughout global history where people have kept quiet because they feared repercussions, it never ends well and it's only solved with the support of your surrounding community showing awareness and care.

The best course of action is to approach the victims and let them know that they are not alone, not wrong for feeling abused and that they are in-fact in the right for feeling fear for their safety.
When you see abuse going on around you, you let your fellow members of the community know that [x] person is abusive to some members you do not want to name in order to keep their safety, and discuss the actions that should be taken.
These matters can be handled like they are handled now as bringing them to light long after the events of abuse took place or they could be handled as they are happening and honestly that would be ideal.

When it comes to what makes tf.tv shittier these days? Well what do expect from a game that never came into large success and is older than bloody 10 years with a competitive scene that is stuck in limbo, where every person has their own vision and idea to what would make this game grow when the simple answer is that TF2 is a guinea pig valve used to experiment and learn shit about different monetisation methods for F2P and non F2P games, it was never meant to go big and believing it will get there is a far fetched dream, sure I'd love to see this game somehow get to a big """e-spert""" because honestly I haven't found a single modern game besides TF2 that has good old school mechanics and good craic because of the artstyle and fun community that it promoted , but I doubt it will happen and I'm not heartbroken over it because otherwise I'd be like those poor Half Life fans who still have dreams for a proper Half Life 3 ROFL......

So the "scene" stagnates over time, player skill is impressive and all but you've seen so much of the game that something new is never really new to you, players grow older and move on to different things in their life like they healthily should do honestly, obsessing over a small videogame hobby just isn't good for your growth as a person and it kinda blows my mind when I look at community members I've known either directly or not, since over 5 years ago (fuck I realise now how many years I've kept up on and off with this community, what, like, 10 years now?) and seeing them just stuck in the same grind without improving their real lives.

Plus the internet as a whole has become less and less of a wild-west kind of place where you could log-on, VOIP with your mates for a bit of craic where it's unfiltered and you can all let loose on the cringiest, lamest and rudest jokes but it's still funny because it's in good taste and no one actually holds bigoted opinions and views, it's still funny to joke about them and it should be encouraged and not put down and have threads and people banned because they are simply talking bantz and shooting the shit.
So the game is "dead" (I'd say it's always been in a limbo between dead and alive), the community grows older and moves on, new people that come in are honestly just kind of declining in the quality of their jokes and memes because everyone is so fixated on being politically correct and not being too mean so when big daddy sponsor looks at this wee game and sees that some stupid player said "the N word" or called someone a faggot with serious intent they'll not wanna sponsor the game, as if that fucking matters, ROFL... Every community is plagued with this shit and it honestly just ruins the craic sensible people here have fun with when you try to water it down and keep everyone all friendly and polite.

At the end of the day Team Fortress 2 is rated M for mature, and at 16+ years old, if you think that some edgy teens playing this game can help themselves and not say something stupid that they will most likely regret saying when they are older, than frankly you're either delusional or just straight up a stupid person that needs to grow up and get a sense of humour and maybe thicker skin.
