For bball demos, when you have that problem go father back in the demo to a point where you die and get the deathcam. Something about going through the whole deathcam process restores sound in bball demos, at least for me.

santababymionix avior7000 is a good bet, though im interested to see how the new ec2 is also.
Head's up if anyone else is looking at the Avior 7000, Massdrop has it for 40 dollars plus shipping: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/mionix-avior-7000
I don't personally have the mouse I'm just pointing out the deal for anyone interested.
Personally I find DM both more enjoyable and more helpful than MGE. Just make sure if you're playing soldier you don't get into the nasty habit of just throwing rockets into groups of players, actually aim your rockets and go for all the stupid directs and you'll be good.
As far as I know the Hyperx Clouds are rebranded Takstar headphones, which is a very very good thing. The Takstar Pro 80 are supposedly budget monsters.
Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but with all the talk of Fraps/MSI Afterburner compared to Source Recorder I thought I would chime in with what is, IMO, the easiest way to get a good enough quality video on Youtube in the shortest amount of time.
I've been toying around with using OBS and the NVENC encoder to record TF2. NVENC uses the dedicated H264 encoder, included on most Nvidia GPUs produced after March 2012 (check the for Shadowplay compatibility as Shadowplay uses NVENC to record), to record high quality compressed video with basically zero impact on game performance. This means I can load up TF2, exec a high quality autoexec with exaggerated motion blur settings, play a demo, then record the clip and be done. After those few steps, I'll have a nice little H264 compressed 1080p 60fps video of beautiful max settings TF2.
Also I should note that this method would work with any recording software that utilizes NVENC, Intel's quicksync, or whatever AMD has for their hardware accelerated encoding solution. I used OBS because it's the most configurable.
Here's an example of something that took about 5 minutes to record and upload (watch in 60 fps):
ETHER I LOVE YOU! Why didn't I think to look on VG circle jerk steam profiles... Thanks dude.

So I just spent a solid 15ish minutes googling and searching around for fragga's old gpit stickies rant, but it seems it was all for naught. It seems crazy to me that in this day and age something from the internet can just be forever lost but as far as I can tell that's the case with this old piece of gotfrag history. :[
Needless to say, if anyone does manage to find that please post it in this thread.

He was roaming in the bad stats link, and pocketing in the good stats link so I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to show. ???
So even with it's weird faults, this is my favorite mouse to use so far. I can't believe I've never used a lighter mouse before, this is amazing.
Here's my review, hope you like it:
I want to love this mouse I really do, but the one I received has some strange issues.
For some reason it malfunctions almost every time I flick my mouse to the left. I measured the mouse a few times in Enotus without issue (4ish m/s) but the sensor still freaks out when I try to do something like a left rocket jump. Also, for whatever reason I can't seem to rj anymore using right click as jump. Usually for something like a ctap I time my crouch then press M1/M2 simultaneously, but I can't for the life of me press both buttons at the same time with this mouse, my rj fails every time. (I should note that I have no issues left or right clicking in or out of game. As far as I can tell everything works fine with both switches except that exact situation :s)
As I said I really really want to love this mouse. The weight is amazing and I feel like my aim is better with it, but it's hard to play with these issues. Is anyone else experiencing oddities like this? Any suggestions?
futureRed_Why don't we get rid of a few tftv hosted servers and start a pub dedicated to advertising comp tf2? Sounds simple but it might be helpful. It appeals to stupid pubbers and gets the message out about comp tf2
I would really like to get involved in something like that, we need something with a basic rotation of cp maps and have folks on there being vocal about everything in regards to the competitive format. This can even apply to highlander, hell, lost continents has been doing it right for god knows how long. You would just need the consistent player base, and with that in mind I think we can accomplish that.
Pro like Chro
Insane like Train

In all seriousness though, Kevin is 100% correct with post #92. I was one of those career 2fort engineers for a lonnngggg time and playing on Pro like Chro is what flipped the switch. Playing against all those good players and seeing amazing things like rocket jumping soldiers, airshots, scouts that could dip and dodge while hitting shots, and snipers hitting crazy air-headshots (fox u da man) inspired me (and many others) to up my own game. Had I never had that realization of how awful I really was at this game, and how much of a gap there was between me and the "average" competitive player, I'm not sure I would've ever even been interested in comp TF2.
For those of you who don't know what Pro like Chro and Insane like Train means, they were TF2 servers years ago where a bunch of competitive players would hang out and pub on competitive maps.
who's this Dave_AC guy they're talking about... good thing Dave__AC isn't caught up in all this mess because i have the utmost respect for that guy
For anyone interested, the EOTL soundtrack is available on Spotify and Google Play.
The soundtrack was awesome IMO and the best part about the update.
Sounds like something is overheating and slowing down to protect itself. Try blowing out any dust buildup in vents and/or fins on your computer/laptop. If it still persists look at your CPU and GPU temps under load (next time you have to alt tab would be a good time to look) and post them here.
