rangaPUFFedit: Invite is still competitive. 3 Weeks to go and the seedings for LAN are still undecided. If I recall, every season by this point has about 3 teams locked in for LAN while the others fight for the 4th spot. How is this season different?no 4th seed has ever won a single matchup on lan (only twice have they got more than 10 rounds. TWICE), guess people's expectations are that they won't win a single round...?

from what I remember LG won lan as 4th seed, fully torqued got 3rd as 4th seed, and in the first 2 lans Blight got first and second coming in as 4th seed. In the past 4th seed hasn't done too badly tbh, with the exception of the past few seasons.

I think CEVO and ETF2L are both fine options, but for different reasons. I chose CEVO because I like to watch the absolute top players play under pressure, and CEVO could apply a lot more pressure with a few tweaks.

WariSomeone please explain to me why a LAN is so fucking important. 95% of everyone that plays doesn't go to it. Open finals doesn't go to LAN. IM finals doesn't go to LAN. Only invite goes to LAN.

Does the community simply not have the dedication to actually join CEVO? CEVO has a prize pot. It doesn't have an entry fee. It doesn't have premium. Why the fuck does not having a LAN suddenly invalidate all of this?

LAN keeps the top players going (Players have said this many times), without the top players the scene is dead. Simple as that. New leagues have never failed to get low-level players, but if low level players join a league the high level players won't necessarily join it, however, if the high level players join a league the low level players will most likely flock to it.

If anyone is seriously considering starting a new league, I'd like to make a suggestion:

Don't make it a free league. Free league after free league has popped up, but none have really attracted top level competition. If a paid league gets started and the top players play it instead of ESEA, the others will follow and it might actually get enough money to host a lan/modest prize money.

#1 triplemint LFT esea o pocket/roam/scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Plans fell through and I need a team for next season of ESEA. I have no ESEA experience, and no real experience above UGC, but I can perform at a solid level for a middish open team.

Pros:
-Can play a variety of roles
-Can independently analyze situations fairly well
-Good enough DM most of the time

Cons:
-Inexperience
-Inconsistent DM
-Is a baddie
