#10 wrangler in highlander in TF2 General Discussion
KoobadoobsAlso, the pistol and short circuit have been sitting in its shadow for a while now, and I'd rather die 100 times learning to utilize the short circuit than sit by my sentry, holding out the wrangler, shooting everything in range like every other engy for another season.

This is a pretty awesome point. I can't imagine how hilarious and amazing a player that is good with the short circuit would be.

There really can't possibly be any good reason for it to be allowed.

#3 AVERMEDIA Live Gamer HD in Hardware

Tyler uses the AVERMEDIA Game Broadcaster HD which he says he uses two computers. The AVERMEDIA Live Gamer HD is an updated version. I'll have to talk to John about it, not really sure if he uses it, he just mentioned it before.

Edit: After looking into the one Tyler has, it doesn't need two computers. I have no idea why he has it setup that way.

Now I need to look into which one is better for the price.

#1 AVERMEDIA Live Gamer HD in Hardware

Does anyone have this? It's supposedly a capture card that allows you to stream at 720p 60fps or 1080p 30fps without using another computer (also with minimal hit to CPU). The reason I'm curious about this product is that the reviews are all over the place. Some people are saying the card doesn't work properly with xsplit, the screen flashes black from time to time, while others are saying there are absolutely no problems with xsplit and new drivers are being released monthly. From what it sounds the product was released with an handful of issues that are now fixed. I'd still like to know if anyone has this before putting the money aside for one.

#42 Competitive TF2 team page in TF2 General Discussion

I don't think Lange or anyone else who likes to stream other games should be condemned for doing such. I can't speak for him but I feel like he'll be back in a month or so. AFAIK he was just overloaded with TF2 and is taking a much needed break. With that said, is there a way to keep streams from showing up that aren't playing TF2? If not maybe just temp remove him and make sure he gets put right back on as soon as he comes back to TF2. Lange was one of the very first few people to start streaming TF2 and I think he deserves to be apart of the group as much as everyone else.

That's pretty cool idea, maybe everyone can use an "official logo"?

Is there a way to put this site on that page? Would be really useful for directing curious stream viewers to more information on 6's and Highlander.

Also why is there no chat box? :(

#22 What maps did you like this summer? in TF2 General Discussion

From lobbying the maps on a consistent basis I would say Canalzone stood out as by far the worst map of the bunch. Borneo and Standin played pretty well (everything else was okay at best). I think playing Badwater or Upward twice a season would be something to consider. Those maps are just on another level for highlander.

I want to give highlander a try with some friends eventually but a lot of the stale-matey maps are keeping me away from trying out the format in a league.

#24 Saltysally community frag video! in TF2 General Discussion

You'll find the POV smoothing takes more effort but lets you do exactly what you want, whereas your method can be really hard to pull off correctly.

IMO if you want to make a frag video POV is the way to go, if you want to make a story or thematic type of video (like xlr's interactive videos) STV is the way to go. I think you should just try out everything and see what works best for you.
