i have looked at micarta and the only reason i didnt use it was because i had this wood on hand, but ill probably make some home made micarta scales for the next ones i make from some fabric or colored paper

this one isnt sharpened yet, i have a lansky knife sharpening kit but i have not had the time to sharpen it

heated passed the point where the steel loses magnetivity, then quench in 120-130 F motor oil

after that you bake at 400 F for 2 hours

about $200, i bought almost all of the items off amazon, somethings like a drill and a trash can for the forge i already had

i pretty much learned everything from youtube, and i've come accross his channel during that time, he is pretty awesome indeed

i decided to make a knife and took some photos along the way, thought some might find these interesting, i had a lot of fun making it (apparently tftv doesnt like vertical pictures so it turned them ;/ )

the knife is from 01 tool steel, not sure what the wood is

the second knife in progress, i started it on friday and i just heat treated and quenched it tonight

i decided to spend less time on the weight of the handle, so i just drilled a bunch of holes to accomplish the same effect as filing out the handle like on the first one

it seems like the devs have got it right this time, granted end game is a bit stale
