NVidia GTX1080 and 1070 have been launched

keen to pick up a new gpu to replace my current card the r9 270x which ive had for slightly over a year but its slowly kicking the bucket :x
looking for a card in the $400-500 range, what is looking like a better option at this stage, the 1070 or an amd card like the 480?
