if you use just big lines for the crosshair, i suggest adding more colors and lines to it so that you can make them slightly transparent but see them with no problem.
here's an example. (second screenshot's lines could probably be less transparent, but then it already has a regular crosshair)

snack_attackA trick that helped me when I first started was to keep breathing after taking a hit. You take your hit and then before exhaling breath in a little more air just to make sure its all going to your lungs.
great tip. basically, it's one long inhale. first 75% is the smoke, last 25% is air.
the purpose of letting go of the carb is to clear the pipe of smoke after the hit.
