RJIf I can go, this would be my first LAN ever; mind I ask a few newbie questions? :P
(Sorry for the horrible formatting, I'm typing on my phone.)
Even though I'm a Highlander Player, and dabbling in 6s, should I still go? I'd love to meet some of the names I see in this thread; would love to meet all the others as well.
As for gaming goes, I'm assuming we just play whatever people want to do? I heard there's a TF2 tourney as well.
As for the off times, do people just chat about look at other players or games, or something else? I'm only 18, would that be a factor in things?
And since this thing is over multiple days, and its BYOC, I'm assuming we tear down our setups on a day-by-day basis, and would rent hotels or something?
Sorry for such newbie questions. I've been wanting to go to a LAN for a while, and I would love to see if I could make it!

there are tons of highlander players. 6v6 players and highlander players are sitting in the same spots. we don't segregate ourselves. you can socialize, play in pugs, watch other players, surf the web. we will be pugging. no one will steal your stuff. just come alone and meet people. you will want to shower so i wouldn't recommend sleeping on the floor.

Although this can help, I don't think this is the solution to the problem. There's always going to be the one person on a team that didn't protect their IPs or whatever, and the match is going to get ruined anyway. You can only keep diverting the DDoSers for so long. What's going to happen if they DDoS LAN or even the charity event?

fuck, wrong section. sorry :( i always do this when i write a long post..
Hi. I'm not looking to play on a full 6v6 schedule but I still want to be active.
I'd like to start as either a scout, sniper or pyro for a HL team and backup as a scout, soldier and medic for a 6v6 team.
Important stuff:
-Never played on a HL team but have experience as a sniper/scout/pyro ringer for some plat teams.
-Played an entire season as pocket soldier for BIG BOYS.
-Played this game since Monday, December 31, 2007 (19:20:32) GMT.
-Willing to do an interview in person before i tryout for your team if you're going to norcal lanfest.

if you don't want people to give you suggestions on how to improve your hud, why release it in the first place? you're sharing a hud. you're not trying to prove that your taste in huds is superior to everyone elses'.
my opinion:
the health cross is too distracting. overall, it is a pretty unique hud. i like the way it looks. i'd use it over a lot of other huds if i didn't have a hud (with modifications) that fit me perfectly.
