no one here said the death penalty was a deterrent to crime

also if a death row inmate isn't actively seeking a re-trial and has simply accepted his or her fate that they will be executed, then why spend money on keeping them alive for 10-20 years while they await death?

my point still stands: there's people on death row who have done shit like raped children or murdered entire families, those people aren't expecting redemption or rehabilitation

all they're doing is wasting tax dollars because the justice system wants to keep monsters like that alive

if someone is a lifer on death row then i doubt they're asking for redemption

death penalty doesn't exactly mean torture

also the death penalty would circumvent much prison overcrowding and lifers on death-row that has grown to be a problem in the united states
