Thoughts on Overwatch?

I think that overwatch will turn out as a fine game, and the issue for most people that already play established shooters is that overwatch has some extremely gimmicky mechanics that reduce the skill floor of the game to the point where objectively bad players can play on par with better players (for example widowmaker ult or mei/reindhardt). While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's a major turnoff to most of us that are used to playing shooters that are pretty well balanced such as TF2. I think the game will become balanced eventually, but people will have to be patient with blizzard.
My serious issue with the game is just how stale it feels to play after a couple matches, all of the maps are designed the exact same way and suffer from the same issues, and the entire gamemode of KOTH just feels awful to play. Most maps suffer from not having enough height variety, as opposed to maps that people actually like such as gibraltar, which has a lot of height variety.
One huge thing I do love about blizzard though is how good of a world they built with all of the characters, the lore for all of them is spot on and very entertaining to read.
