Tyrone's story about starting out in open and eventually working his way up to becoming one of the greatest players the game's ever had was part of my motivation to get into comp play. You should stream again when you get the chance, your stream was the best
I'm looking for an ammomod partner as well. Are there any servers that still have that mod?
wareyadon't forget about 8v8
What were the class limits for that? 6v6 was my first competitive format, so it's hard to wrap my brain around how other non-Highlander modes would work.
CanFoBanning offclassing is indeed a tricky subject indeed.
If it's left to the discretion of the admins, then I don't think it's actually that tricky. There's a difference between having your scouts run heavy and sniper on least and having every player on your team play classes that differ from what they'd been all season prior. It shouldn't be too hard for the admins to make a decision, and I think the punishments they levied here were entirely fair.
Edit: That's not to say that all instances of offclassing like FT should receive punishments, but if they're going to alter the seeding going into lan then I think it should be understandable.
Yeah. I think I've worked out that the fundamental problem is that the Remote Access Connection Manager is failing to start with "Error 20: The system cannot find the device specified." That's the focus of my googling now
I think I'm just going to have to reinstall :/ I'm just pissed that there's no warning when clicking disable all services, and that it automatically happens. Assuming that that's what's actually behind my problems. At the moment it's seeming like most of the important networking services are unable to start, all giving the same error message, "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"
Thanks for all the help, though.
In poking through device manager, all of my Microsoft 6to4 Adapters (1-34), Microsoft ISATAP Adapters (1-3), and my WAN Miniport (IKEv2) network adapters give the same status, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" I uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft 6to4 Adapter 1 driver, and it's still giving me the Code 39.
FogAre you able to do a system restore from Windows Recovery? If not how about a repair install?
I can't find my recovery disks at the moment, so I believe that they might be at home and not with me at school. For now I'm trying another system restore, but this time from safe mode to see if that changes anything. If I get my hands on those disks some time this week, what should I be doing with them? I've never done a repair install before.
vertoFor the love of god, don't do this.
im not planning on it. The tech said that the the charge was only reversible if the tech aiding me believed that the solution he provided wasn't satisfactory, and i'm not going to shell out a hundo for some "technician" to tell me reinstall windows.
hooliwin+r>services.msc>change all services to automatic
I've scoured services.msc, but haven't found that option yet. And there's to my knowledge no way to select multiple services and start them. I just got off the phone with windows tech support, and after an hour of being juggled between different technicians I was offered the choice to pay $99 to have a different technician diagnose the problem. At this point I'm not really sure what to do. I have my recovery disks still, but reinstalling seems like an over reaction. Surely there's some other way to fix this.
hooliafter enabling all services, did you hit apply and then restart?
Yeah, the problem is that many services are stopped, and a lot of them I'm unable to start without getting some type of error message.
I just tried that, and it didn't work. I've also noticed that changes I make under msconfig aren't saving. I've changed the startup services to what I remembered them being from before, yet when I boot up there are programs starting that I know I disabled from start up.
I don't believe that Safe Mode is currently checked, but I'll go see if it is.
I was in system configuration (msconfig) cleaning up the services running on start up, when I accidentally clicked "disable all services." Upon booting, as would be expected my computer wasn't running as it normally would. I clicked "enable all services," but I cannot connect to the internet. Many processes are listed as being "stopped." I was banking on system restore helping me out, but I've run it twice to no avail. I'm not at my computer at the moment, so I can't give the exact error messages, but attempting to start some stopped services results in a plethora of different error messages. I also can't seem to get windows to utilize normal startup, as it keeps defaulting to "selective startup" even after I change it to normal startup. Is there any way I can force start all services?
EDIT: After running "sfc /scannow" the problem is gone! Thanks for all the help, I'm glad to have this finally end.
