I think early Friday would be the earliest I could get there due to commitments the rest of the week. Hopefully there would still be space with you guys at that point. Getting hype though, I love plans.
Sounds like a good plan all in all. Concrete floor sounds pretty rough though, guess I'd need an airbed? I've got a few things to work out to make sure that I have the time off, but I should be able to make it. What day are you guys arriving, just so I know?
Camping sounds alright. Have you done it before? Because I have questions regarding where the camping is - is it inside the building like some conventions have (and therefore on concrete) or is there somewhere actually outside? - and also what security (if any) there is for valuables. Not that I plan on bringing much but still. And would the plan just be to buy a plot each with our tickets and group our plots together?
Sounds like a sweet deal though if it's only an extra £40 on top of the ticket price.
Edit: Realised I could probably get most of this info from the NEC website as soon as I posted, so here's what I found: Camping appears to be indoors (sorry if everyone knew this already RIP) and they have cloakrooms which I'm assuming are secure-ish for £1 per item.
Thought of another question though - can you bring your own drinks in?
HyceJameson and Ginger Ale.
I second this. Just as good is a moscow mule (vodka + ginger ale) or dark and stormy (dark rum + ginger ale), but all should have a nice squeeze of lime IMO. Delicious.
General thread for discussion of i63 accomodation (where you’re staying, if you’re sharing and who you’re sharing with etc). and organising accomodation for those who don’t already have something sorted.
I’m considering coming to i63 as my first ever TF2 LAN (to spectate) but hotels nearby are pretty expensive now, so I also wanted to see what my options were personally.
In another thread I saw a suggestion of group camping or something. Not enitrely sure how it works but the idea seemed to be that group camping tickets, while more expenive than regular tickets to i63, would negate the cost of accomodation and work out cheaper than the alternative. A TF2 camp would also set up a nice area for us to inhabit.
Having said all that I have no real desire to be responsible for organising any big group things, I’m mostly just wondering what peoples exisiting plans are in case theres any room for extra people. Either way, hopefully cu@
Are there any spectator tickets left?
I only ask because I have no idea which tickets include access to which areas, because I’ve never been before, not just out of laziness.
This could be my first LAN if so!
Is there any way to attend this in person or is it strictly a streaming thing? I feel like there was something like a meet-up last year, but I wasn’t paying enough attention.
Is Rewind 2 all the same games as Rewind 1? Or is Rewind 2 TF2-only?
Cause either way is really cool, but a TF2-only LAN might be a little bit extra cool.
Also is there any word on the prize money yet? I forget whether it was wholly or prtially crowd funded last time or whatever but a thicc prize pool is always good to get the hype juices flowing.
So I'm not a stoner or anything but weed seriously helps a lot of people with depression and issues with mood. Not sure if you've tried it but it might be a start if you're looking for something that might help. This isn't just anecdotal either, there are mountains of research papers categorically showing how cannabis can help.
Other than that I'm not sure what to suggest. One way to look at it might be that if you're at the point of wanting to kill yourself, you may as well "kill" your old life now and move somewhere new, get new friends, a new job and try radically different things such as travelling, new hobbies etc. You might find some joy in that that shows you that life is worth living. And not that I would encourage it, but if all that fails you can always kill yourself after giving it one last try.
I'm 100% out of my depth in regards to eSports coverage but here are some things/questions I have:
- What was the i55 set up? Cause I thought that coverage was great (so many headshots, airshots, spy plays, med picks etc all caught on the stream) and could that system be used again?
- I liked the split screen for rollouts but agree that it had sort of confusing impact in other situations
- I liked the mini camera in the bottom left to keep an eye on off-classes while the 'main' action was being watched BUT for example when a sniper was being watched on the minicam it was very difficult to see what was being aimed at since the sniper POV is so zoomed out. In these situations I think it would have been better for the minicam and maincam to be switched, otherwise it was difficult to see anything from the sniper POV and it was therefore almost redundant
- All of the rest of the production was great! I loved the pick/ban screens and the transitions were always on point as far as I saw and Nuze's analytics were a pleasure to watch
- Lastly I remember at Rewind there was at least one (maybe two) cameras with a live feed of the venue so that you could see the crowd in relation to the players on the stage and see the whole set up of the place. Really made it feel a lot more like you were there rather than just seein the crowd. For example I didn't even see the stage until I saw it in the i61 pictures thread. Maybe I just missed it though bc I didn't manage to catch 100% of the stream.
Hopefully this is helpful or at least nice to hear. Its also all just my personal opinion and I'm aware there is so much work involved with production and I have the utmost respect for everyone involved and thank you for your effort. Also if anything I said is out of your hands due to different productions companies(?) e.g. the tf.tv style vs the essentials.tf style then that's fair enough, I just wanted to suggest anything I could based on any past LANs I've watched. Lastly, sorry for rambling and cu@Rewind2018 :D
Any word on when the stream goes live?
It says first match is 3:30pm (UK time) but will there be some kind of intro thingy?

I'm tring to update the pages as fast as i can.But the fact that i'm still on holiday in a hermitage in mountain doesn't help...
Hope to find some cool contributors willing to help me :3
Thanks for putting that up, especially on holiday. It's really super helpful - I totally forgot about comp.tf (shame on me)
Yeah for every class b4nny is great at there's one player (at least) who is even better than him, e.g. clockwork on scout, alle on demo. That said, he's roughly 2nd best at so many classes that if you assigned a numerical value to player ranking on each class and added that all up for b4nny he would be above any other player in the game by a fair margin.
That is to say nobody is as good at as many classes as him really, even if he isn't 1st best at all of them.
Is there anyone with a better understanding of this layout that can whip up a quick diagram to make it easier to visualise? Or is it essentially a standard double elimination bracket (in the later stages at least) cause I know what that looks like.
GL and HF - can't wait to see some EU gimmicks, even if there's a limited amount of Americans to annoy with them.
