still looking, try me out
looking for some more try-outs this weekend
hey there,
looking for a team to play season 14 open for esea. i have played 2 seasons of esea, first in open and second in IM. I wouldn't consider myself IM level though. preferably looking for a team that has been together at least 1 season but would appreciate any and all try-outs. i am also proficient in any off-class needs such as sniper, heavy, engy or others. i have played several seasons of high plat highlander if that matters. recently upgraded to a 120hz monitor and have enjoyed playing scout very much. i am very eager to learn and grow as an individual/teammate. hopefully you can try me out and i can be a solid addition to your team!
thank you for taking the time to read my application. feel free to add me for any questions or if you want to try me out:
CopperSideTheFragile Will this hold me down a lot? It runs all of my games at a very desirable FPS, but I don't know how demanding video cards are for streaming. As mentioned in the original post, the only game I truly care about streaming here is TF2 and source engine games in general. Streaming some Super Street Fighter 4 would also be cool but not absolutely mandatory.Streaming doesn't affect the video card at all. The video capture is done on the CPU.
But wouldn't having a GPU with decent VRAM help alleviate some of the CPU usage for not only streaming but also gaming and in turn help the CPU concentrate more of it's resources for said stream? If so, then I think having a decent GPU would in fact help, but not too sure. Someone correct me?
Abe?

However, I didn't buy a new video card yet. I'm considering sticking with my GTX 280 in the meantime. Will this hold me down a lot? Since you already bought the parts, why not give it a try with the 280 (as long as the 280 is compatible with the mobo) and see how it goes. That way you don't have to spend money upgrading parts that didn't need upgrades. If it doesn't work out, get a $150-200 GPU and you should be set.
SAO_zeroskillBudget: $500-$600If you were me, would you spend your budget on one superb 120hz monitor or would you get two really good monitors?Which one would you choose as the superb monitor and which one would you choose to double up?Thanks ahead of time~!I'd wait for this to come out:http://pcmonitors.info/asus/another-144hz-model-the-asus-vg248qe
Interesting. I am so impatient though. Hrmmmm.

mx518 if price is no issue.
g400 otherwise but it may have cord issues.
I know you said 50 bucks max, but this mechnical keyboard is 10-keyless and manufactured by the same people that do the Filco boards. This one is cherry blue but I have the red one and it's amazing. On sale right now for $66.99. The cherry reds are more expensive though. Looks like they have cherry brown too. The brown is 80 and the red is 90.

If you don't mind the branding, this keyboard should last you almost forever. I doubt you can find a mechnical keyboard with this build quality for anywhere near that price. It's a steal imo.
well, i am biased because i have been playing with optical mice my whole FPS career and think they are better than laser. i also think the mx518 is actually better than the new "upgraded" g400. but that's just me. i mean if money is no issue, by all means get the g500 but i think you will be disappointed compared to the g400. again, if it's covered under warranty, you just gotta wait 4-6 business days for it to ship. nothing beats free imo.
also, for those who opened their mice up to fix the cord, logitech did not ask me for the defected mouse back, so technically they would never know that you voided the warranty (i didn't btw). on top of that, i think logitech knows it's an issue but won't admit it, i think they would rather just replace them for free.
#4 - sorry but since the product info is tied to that product, i don't think you can. but i don't work for logitech
my g500 tends to jitter a bit on cloth, actually seems to work better with no mouse pad and just using my desk.
logitech mice have a 3 year warranty, why not get the g400 replaced for free? i had an issue with my g400 (same cord issue others had) and the process took less than 5 minutes over the phone. just provide the information on the belly of the mouse and they can check in their systems to see if it's still under warranty. no invoice or receipt needs to be produced. if i am not mistaken, the g400 has not been in production for 3 years so it should be covered.
