Mechanical Keyboard Switches

IMO, I'd stick with your decision to go for browns.
I spent a ton of time researching different switch types/keyboards before I finally settled with a Filco with brown switches, because I figured it's a nice even ground between "gaming" and typing. It just has enough of a little bump to feel it while typing, but you don't really notice it too much when gaming because you'll be bottoming out your WASD keys anyways.
